Need advice: Walking the dog, then clean her paws before entering house?

Dear friends,
My family and I will be adopting my neighbour's mixed terrier, Sweetie. She's 7 or 8 years old this year. Very good dog. She will the addition in my family some time in Jan just before Chinese New Year 2009.

I need your kind advice about taking the dog for a walk and cleaning/washing her paws before going in the house. Is that do-able? If yes, please advise. If not, please also advise giving me some ideas what's best to do.

THank you. {grin}

lisa.. when i first got my dog, which is very white like a lil snow bear.. i always wash his paws after he went to the garden.. sort of obsessive r sumthin.. hehee cus of his looks.. sooo neaatt.. like even the smallest lil non-visible dirt on his paws do not belong there.. but after years... no need la.. we also get used to his filth already (happy filth swimming together). but when he got wet dirt we'll wash his paws.. or he will print the house ^^.

Thanks for your advice, Ferreted! :) I think I better wash because my family prefer clean feet and paws in the house..hehehehehe

So, there will be no health issue to the dog if we wash her paws everytime coming in the house? Maybe have to buy certain type of shampoo?

What do you think?

Thank you. :)

dog shampoo always.. it was something with the ph level, irritability to their skin, using human soap r very frowned upon (i was guilty before).. so.. if you want the best..

you gotta do what you gotta do to keep people n the dawg happy, at least we can make sure we dry them properly.. cheers.. enjoy your new dawg!
