Re: New member with a Lab.
they're gonna be Lab mix because i don't know who the dad is. I suppose its one of the neighbour's dogs :/ I do hope they're attitude don't turn out to be exactly like Marley's. It'll be a complete headache to have three (or more, not confirmed how many) mini Marleys.

I you're referring the Marley from the book Marley & Me (I've read the book trice!{happy}, is so so soo destructive and hyperactive. Biting and destroying everything she finds. Complete headache if you know how Marley is. Check out Marley & Me's movie trailer in youtube they you'll know. If I have more then one pups then I'll try to give you one. Right now I have no plans of asking for new homes yet. Wanna wait to see how many I'll get and survives. Quote:

But if they turn out to be hyperactive, I'll know that those came from Dash. She was super duper hyperactive. I'm not sure how she was when she was a puppy because I adopted her when she was 8months. But when she first came to my house, she kept running around the house like she's chasing some imaginary runaway biscuit. She chewed everything from her toys to car tyres to the wooden bench legs. The first two years nothing can control her. But now mature abit la. She knows when is the time to stop. |
Re: New member with a Lab.
Correct me if I am wrong, you must have let your dog roam without supervision and did not spay her so now she is pregnant. So many homeless dogs and you are creating more.. Speechless..
BellXun, if you are keen on adopting another dog do let me know. I can show you what I have before I post them up for adoption. |
Re: New member with a Lab.
From the reply you gave, you seem like a very judgmental person.
I know my dog must have gotten out of the house without supervision and I have a reason for that. My dog was not spayed because I have a reason, not because I want more puppies. You think I want to go through the trouble of finding new homes for the puppies? No way, man. I am not going to tell you my reasons because I don't like judgemental people. Plus, is this the way you welcome people into the forum especially in the Member's Intro???? Lastly, did I say i would leave the puppy homeless? No, I did not say a single word relating to that. I would be glad to keep puppies until I am very sure that a nice and loving home is offered to them. I love my dog and I love my grandpuppies. And trust me, I will do a thorough checkup on the new family's background before handling them my precious puppies. My grandpuppies deserve the same treatment in getting new homes just as dash's previous owner gave her. Then again, why should I explain myself? The fact that my dog was let out without supervision and not spayed seems to be the only thing registered inside your mind about me. I suppose I'd get more discrimination. But if your sentence "So many homeless dogs and you are creating more" means another way, then I' sorry. As an animal lover, I really am. I did not intend my dog to get pregnant. Please don't say that it is impossible that I am one just because my dog got pregnant. |
Re: New member with a Lab.
Only you assumed that I think you are not a dog lover. If you don't want to spay your dog it's not because you are not a dog lover. If your dog gets pregnant accidentally it's your carelessness and irresponsibility. Your pups might not be homeless but by rehoming one of your pups another homeless dog out there stays homeless. I can only hope that your dog doesn't get pregnant again.

Re: New member with a Lab.
Hi Amanda,
Welcome to PetFinder and hope you enjoy your stay here! Well, I haven't personally experienced "grandfatherhood" myself haha, but I have dug out some references that might be useful to you: http://www.vetwest.com.au/pregnancy-and-your-dog http://www.peteducation.com/article....2+2109&aid=900 http://www.petbitsforyou.com/pregnant.html All the best in taking care of your dog. Maybe you would want to consider spaying her later on so that you won't have to worry about finding homes for her puppies every few months {wink} |
Re: New member with a Lab.
Thanks, Andy. Those site definitely shed some light.
Whoah, "puppies every few months" would be a bit too much. Hahah. I don't expect my dog to get pregnant anymore. I wouldn't want all those trouble again. Even though it has brought my relationship with my dog alot more closer, I hate restricting her from jumping and "dashing" here and there which she loves so much. And its not nice for her to get tired so fast everytime she goes jogging with my neighbour (not anymore ever since her pregnancy's confirmed). |
Re: New member with a Lab.
