Neutering for Hamster?

Hi, I just got some hamsters... And I foolishly got mixed gender, since they are all good friends or siblings or something so they get along, which u heard many hamsters don't...

Anyhow... Need to stop them breeding! Keeping them in separate cages isn't that great an option because they are very buddy buddy and do everything together, they sleep all cuddled up...

Any clinics in pj do this procedure?

Re: Neutering for Hamster?

hi jasonred79, Hamster are a small creature that is hard for its body to undergo anesthesia and surgery. Its heartbeat is almost 20 times faster than human, so it needs more drug to keeps it in sleeping mood during surgery (quite risky). Most of the vet refuse to do so * told by my vet. So, keeps in separate cage is the best idea.{wink}
