1) The average lifespan of an outdoor-only cat is about 3 years; an indoor-only cat can live 16 years and longer!
2) A cat's brain is more similar to a human's brain than that of a dog.
3) Cat's eyes actually work as built-in flashlights! Light goes in their eyes, and is reflected back out. That's why they see so well in the dark.
4) When cats are happy or pleased, they sqeeze their eyes shut
5) Cat's urine glows under a black light.
6) A cat can jump 5 times as high as it is tall.
7)Cats' hearing is much more sensitive than humans and dogs. A cat can rotate its ears independently 180 degrees, and can turn in the direction of sound 10 times faster than those of the best watchdog.
8) Cat's whiskers can detect movements 2,000 times smaller than the width of a human hair!
9) Our cats do not actually speak in their natural frequency range as humans would not be able to hear them. They actually adapt & speak in a much lower frequency so humans can hear them.
10) The infamous Black Plague in Europe was caused in part due to the fact that all the cats were rounded up, caged and burned (because people believed those with cats were witches) This left the rats with their disease causing parasites, to run free and multiply. Those harbouring cats were often those who survived.
