Yes, there are just so many strays and homeless animals, and this 500 figure is just a fraction of what is out there. I certainly hope the economic slowdown does not affect the adoption of animals - maybe on the contrary it might even help increase it, with people less willing to spend big sums of money purchasing pedigrees from pet shops and instead opting for the much cheaper adoption alternative.
I certainly look forward to meeting you at our gathering, I've heard positive things about you and this is a good opportunity for us all to learn more from a veteran like you.
