If you leave your kittens for 3-4 days in a cage all by themselves, just think of how smelly the litter box will become and this is very unhealthy as germs & bacteria will spread. Their food will also not be fresh after 4 days.
I think it's better you think about your whole situation now. If you're always outstation with no one to look after your cats then boarding is the only way although its expensive. Otherwise, I feel it's not suitable for you to own a pet when your job requires you to be away very often. It will be a burden for you (like now) and it is also unfair to your cats.
