Hi there, I have two cats, one is almost one year (male) named Aaron, and the other is almost 2 months (female) named Lisa (I got her like a week ago). The process of getting them to know each other seemed to go pretty well. Aaron is a domestic black cat, while Lisa is an American Shorthair.
I'm worried that the older cat might be too rough with kitten. Usually, Aaron will purr at the kitten (Lisa), and run away, then Lisa will chase the older cat around. I think he's making a sign to play. He rarely chases the kitten, but when Aaron is near Lisa, he'd paw Lisa's head and then start to wrestle her in kinda of a "69" position with Aaron on top, and Lisa at the bottom. Biting her tummy and seems like "hugging" Lisa and sometimes, sniffing her tail, and then bites her again and again.
At first I thought they were playing, but when Lisa started to make short hiss and slight growl, it got me worried. Then I started to "shushes" them to stop as I'm afraid he might be hurting Lisa.
A history of Aaron would suggest he is kinda rough. Whenever I put my hands on him, he would flip over and kinda play with my hands, but biting as well, not as hard as you'd imagine, but it's a bit painful. He'd hug my hands, bites me (more like putting his teeth on my hands) and kicks with hind legs.
So the question is, should I worry about their behavior? Are they just playing? Is too rough? Or..could it be that Aaron wants to mate? I have had Aaron fixed though.
If i left any information that might be needed, please let me know. Anyway, here's a picture of them.
