Hi Everyone,
I just wanted to share related information why we need to control and neuter our pets from overpopulating.
Native Egyptian Mau is already facing extinction in their own land of origin, Egypt.
'Mau' means 'cat' in Egyptian.
Did you know in Egypt, cats/dogs were worship (ex: Bastet is known as the goddess with cat head & Anubis is known as jackal-headed god).... but now, due to overpopulation of stray cats/dogs, they are being poisoned legally ...they are also getting shot seasonally by government authorities that include dogs which causes Ibizan hound and some other native jackals depletion in Egypt.
The Mau's just like any other strays instead become pests.
This been going on for almost 20 years massacre of dogs/cats.
But strays are still high and the pure native breeds especially Egyptian Maus are depleting.
Did you know that not all stray cats in the streets of Egypt is pure Mau due to the accidental in-breeding of other household cats unlike decades before?
Gloria Lauris started this organization last 2003 to save Egyptian Mau getting extinct from its native origin.
You may voluntarily donate by shopping at their site/toys/newspapers etc....
You can also escort the cats to their adopters as excess baggage but all paperwork are prepared by EMRO (Egyptian Mau Rescue Organization )

Also Amina Abaza, a 20 yr. old female, founding director of the Society for the Protection of Animal Rights in Egypt (SPARE) is still saving animals getting legally killed.
She made a headline by exposing legal poisoning of stray cats/dogs in Egypt which is internationally banned.
Despite political uproar, she gained a lot of supporters in cyberspace, foreigners and Egyptians alike. They had been waging a campaign against the use of poison & among other brutalities.
They also offer free healthcare to stray and farm animals but provides for approximately 105 dogs and 45 cats at a time, until they are adopted.

I just hope this information enlightened members who are against neuter.
If you think you can provide lifelong dedication to your pets with loving home then perhaps neuter is an option.
But if you think you cannot, please don't give up your pets for adoption or sale without neuter them.
NOTE: Neuter have 3 methods (a) Non-surgical - either in pills or injection, temporary but reportedly got side effects (b) Surgical - either Vasectomy or Tubal Ligation, permanent but will help your companion stay healthy, longer life span and it will save you money. Less stress for you and your pets as well.
Personally, the adult neutered pets are less stubborn & less destructive.
