molly97 , mira rasa, semua owner yang menerima cmmnt tiba2 yang macam itu akan berasa terkejut, and annoyed:). if you cant afford to buy one, what makes you think you can support one? DLH expenses are so much different thn DSH. Kalau dah ambik DLH yang cantik tu ,lepastu takmampu nak jaga seperti tuan yang asal dia jaga, tak kesian ke dekat kucing tu?and kenapa taknak adopt kucing2 yang dkt for adoption? macam kak june kata, kucing pun ada perasaan. kenapa yang dekat SPCA tu semua tinggal yang DSH. Kenapa semua yang DSH je yang put to sleep? Why not the DLH ? Sebab DLH lagi cantik? and another thing, ths is not about sakit hati. ths is about the person , who wants cat just because its cute and adorable. Accept it or not, ths is what i think.

dia bangga sbb dia mampu jaga pet tu dgn baik sehingga menarik perhatian orang lain utk memiliki pet tu..

Mira, the 'comments' you mentioned as I read them are neither annoying or offensive. However if it contains an insult then it is definitely offensive. In this case there is none so why so uptight about it.

Maybe the situation is what Izannyben has mentioned. Frankly I don't think ALL owners feel offended by those comments. I have lovely DLH cats and if I received such comments, I would take it as a compliment because my cats attract such interest. By the way I do not upload my pets profile here.

Now this statement is offensive. You need not have to put it this way.

There are people who do not wish to buy but rather adopt a pet. As with my family, we are strongly against buying pets and hopes that this will make a difference in the breeding industry. We adopted Maine Coons and Persians from friends and strangers, does it mean that we cannot afford to support them?

June, you mentioned unwanted DSH cats and their feelings, please tell me what course of action you are prepared to take in the following situations.......

a) a rescuer fosters a litter of abandoned kittens and within the litter there are DMH and DSH kittens. After a couple of months the rescuer put up for adoption the DSH kittens for free but put for sale the DMH kittens.

b) members trying their best to mate their pets.

c) members selling their 'so-called' pets.

d) members selling the kittens from "unwanted pregnancies" and lastly

e) members selling the kittens from "planned" pregnancies.

I suggest that anyone who does the above have his/her account strike off from Petfinder site. In addition, please take off the FOR SALE section.

Mira, you asked why some people wants to adopt DLH and not DSH cats. Well, it is a matter of preference. Just like some people prefer Pepsi while some like Coca-cola. Is this wrong?

If you think the preference for DLH cats is wrong then pardon me if I ask you this question? Why are you buying Flackie, a DMH kitten from a breeder, IntanLiyana listed in Petfinder and not adopting a DSH kitten from here if you feel so strongly about the poor little unwanted DSH kittens????

Im sorry clover, but that is because, i have always love white long hair kitten. and i know its quite impossible to find them under for adoption . there are few of them, but all of them had been adopt. and who said i dont like dsh? Im feeding the DSH in my college now. Send her for neutering. so what makes you think i have anything against dsh? I do admit, at first, DLH have always get my attention. but after a few visit to SPCA, I understand more. and if i havnt paid flackie, i would get myself a DSH. and that doesnt bother me at all. Just let me explain to you. First, i am not a petfinder member. AFTER i paid for flackie , i become the petfinder member. thn , i started to do research on cats. visiting the spca, reading all about cats.if i can keep cats in the house, i would adopt the dsh, wont be a problem to me.but since i will be keeping flackie in my room. yes ROOM. where i sleep . I dont think im allowed to have more than one cat for now. Oh, mind you , im also feeding the strays behind my house. Oh, do i really need to explain to you all this? Idts. and i did call few ppl to ask about the dsh cat. but after i talk to my mum about it, she said, try to keep one first, and if im capable of keeping more thn one, go ahead.

Clover, if you notice we have put a warning to those looking for stud/mating partner for their pets. For member selling their pets, unwanted/planning pregnancies, is beyond my control. We can always give them an advice to neuter their pets but at the end of the day,the choice is theirs not us. Once I raised this issue abt strike off their account (I mean those in your list) and everybody start shooting me. They said is abt choices. Some like DSH and some like DLH etc,etc. So there you go. I cannot strike off their account as I wish.Andy will decide not me. I'm just a moderator.

I have long giving up putting cats for adoption in this forum because I know nobody wants not so fluffy,less beautiful kucing kampung. I have tried and end up keeping all those cats because nobody wants them.

My only concern to the comment that annoyed Mira, are they prepare for a lifelong commitment and take responsibility to their pets?? Maybe the cats look beautiful/adorable now,but what happen if they are no longer cute?? Some of them giving comments without deep thought,that's annoyed me.

BTW,all my house cats are kucing kampung that rescued from the street. (Just in case,if you ask me this question later)

Thanks for your clarification.

Yes i have seen that you all have given warnings about stud services, good job. I hope Andy would do something about pets for sale issues mentioned in my thread.

By the way, I also took in stray cats as pets and one of them even has its tail broken in few places so much so that its tail is like a knot. We are still keeping the fella as part of the family.

Clover, are you relating to the PF site or the PF forum? Sale IS allowed on the PF site (if you look at the SEARCH facility right at the top, there is a category labelled "For Sale" and the founder has clearly explained previously that the PF site serves to enable people to find/acquire pets both through adoption and sale. But what people cannot do is to do sales under the guise of adoption on the forum as well as the site.
