Human food can present choking hazards, intestinal problems

Pets can change their taste in cat food as time passes, an expert has advised.
While a beloved feline may have once liked dry pet food, as the years pass the animal could change their tastes and become a fan of food from the human table.
However, it is best to keep feeding animals proper pet food, an expert has said. Speaking to Donna Lynn Rhodes of Walnut Creek Patch, veterinarian Erin Troy said that even while tastes can change, animals should be given pet foods that have the nutrients that are required.
"The major reason people give their cat's people food is to make us feel better – not them."
She added that the "safest" food for a feline is made specifically for her needs.
Giving food from the human table to pets can present a number of dangers - bones can become a choke hazard, while the fat content of other items can cause a range of intestinal problems.
