What To Do When Your Cat Is Having Fever

Just wanted to share this information with all of you.
I had learnt a very valuable lesson last Sunday.
My Jojie was feverish and off food.
Since I had some fever pills with me I gave him one before bringing to the Vet for check up as I was very worried about him.
Upon reaching the Vet, I explained to him about Jojie and what I did to him before bringing him to the Vet.
After finished explaining, I received a good lashing from the Vet
He told me I should not have administered medication on my own.
It could have made his conditions worse and that it would be diffcult for him to diagnosed what is wrong with Jojie.
He told me that when a cat is having fever during late night or if the vet is closed we can help to bring down the fever by doing the following :-

1) Give the cat lots of fluid to drink to help bring down the fever

2) Wet a piece of cloth with cold water and rub the whole body and quickly dry the cat with towel or hair dryer.

3) Put the cat in an air conditioned room or under a fan.

REMEMBER! NEVER TRY TO ADMINISTER MEDICATIONS WITHOUT PROPER CONSULTATION FROM A VET! INSTEAD OF MAKING OUR PETS BETTER WE MIGHT HAVE ENDANGERED THEIR LIFES

I was lucky that nothing happened to Jojie.

Bagus info nie kak... tp Lieya tak penah lak wat camni, just give ubat yg vet bg jerk. Kat uma mmg ade stok ubat demam utk anak2 bulus Lieya. Mintak permission akak utk Lieya post dlm blog Lieya eh... nanti kawan2 yg xde joint petfinder nie bleh tau gak.

Boleh no hal punya
Akk pun macam Lieya juga.... ada stock ubat ubatan kat rumah in case of emergency tapi Vet tak syorkan sebab dia kata kita tak tau apa yang menyebabkan demam tu jadi tak elok kita suka suka bagi makan ubat demam. Kemungkinan besar bila kita bagi ubat demam kucing tu akan jadi lebih teruk. Dah tu kalo kita bagi ubat demam and then bawa g vet... vet tak boleh diagnosed sakit kucing tu sebab kita dah pandai pandai jadi vet So se-elok eloknya biar consult vet dulu sebelum bagi apa apa ubatan kat kucing. Kalo kucing demam masa pagi terus bawa g vet tapi kalo belah malam atau masa vet tutup ikut arahan yang tertera di atas.

Huhu! Rasa2nya ok je bro. No harm pun kan? Unless baju yg 3, 4 tahun tak basuh . Yg tu campak sungai pun habis buaya timbul
