Default Cat Acting Angry After Spay

I sent my cat Lola for spaying this morning and she was discharged at 7pm. She has been hiding ever since she came home and will hiss and growl at anything that goes near including me and my other cat. Is this normal behaviour? I am supposed to feed her antibiotics 2 times a day and wonder how will this be possible with all the hissing and growling

Kynthia, yes, this isn't surprising, as she's probably still groggy and simply doesn't feel well. She's had major surgery, after all! Most vets recommend keeping a cat in a cage after surgery to limit movement and provide a sense of safety and comfort. If you can, give her a clean, comfortable, quiet space and a while to rest and recover before trying to give her the antibiotics.

Thanks Maneki Neko. Yes she is resting at her favourite spot now. Tried caging her but she acted very aggressively. I guess the best option is to give her space to rest at her favourite spot.

However, I am getting worried because up to now, she still wont allow me to get close, let alone inspect her wound or give her antibiotics
