Adamyala,

I know how it feels! My Lulu had the same problem when she was on "whiskas", "friskies", "smart heart"

It improved a little when I fed her with RC FIT 32.

However, when I started her on RC Kitten 34 mixed with RC FIT 32 (because she was pregnant), she got better and her poo is solid!!

Now, she is all okay, and I am feeding her RC FIT 32 in the morning, followed by evening meal of RC Kitten 34 mixed with Orijen!

YES, we would do anything for our furkids eh?

Hi sillylupie,

I am glad your Lulu is happy and well.
Now you spend a little bit more, but minus the vet bills, right?

hi sillylupie/bina

but would it help if you just give her orijen? your cat food bill will decrease as you only need to buy orijen and not orijen together with RC. furthermore orijen's kibble is good for all feline life stages from kittens to adult to nursing queen to senior feline

just my two cents - as usual can't help it

Not sure why, but Lulu doesn't seem to like Orijen alone ... need to mix.
:)
And I have still got a big bag of RC FIT 32 left! So need to finish this one off before I start off with another feeding strategy!
Always appreciate your "2-cents" (eh, I thought BNM rounded it down or up??)

hi

hehehe, my opinion is still "two-cents" worth, regardless of inflation

oh, i think i know why. it's the smell of orijen in our hot weather. if you buy the 2.5kg bag, you can rezip it and then put it in your refrigerator.

if you buy the 7kg bag, what you can do is to restore the kibbles into cookies container (like the sort used during festive season) and then store this in your refrigerator.

this is what the manufacturer suggested to me. i suspect it's due to the content of omega oil in the kibble. the smell becomes quite strong especially when it gets hotter in the day or when it becomes very hot and humid and also if you leave the kibbles out the whole day for your cat.

but if you're looking for another alternative, you may try natural balance. you can check out their website at www.naturalbalanceinc.com

Hi Ashley,

I would like my cat to try Dick Van Patten's Natural Balance® L.I.D. Limited Ingredient Diets™ Green Pea & Duck Formula for Cats.
Where can I purchase this?

ahhh,

a question to which i know the answer

you can either get it from the distributor sea park pet supplies at SS2 or call them to enquire for the retailer nearest to you. TeL : 78740682

the naturalbalance website indicate they have two LID formula a) Venison + Green Pea b) Duck + Green Pea. however only Duck+Green Pea (for cat) is being imported in, currently in 3lbs bag - testing the market acceptance here.

let's us keep tag on this product and how well our cat does on it...perhaps we can start another thread on this. do keep me posted okay?

thanks for sharing the info on NB duck/green pea formula. so now it's out to the retailers already. i gotta check with my regular retailer at Sri Petaling - although they're not so near me but they closes the latest...perhaps i can do a dry run tonight or tomm night, gotta eat anyway. nice food stalls there.

Thanks Ashley for the info. I have not contacted the distributor yet but I believe Sri Petaling is the nearest for me. What is the name of your regular shop there?

Thanks Sillylupie. You guys really travel to get food for your kitties.Well, I supposed you do what you got to do. I do the same too. I travel to Seri Kembangan to purchase kibbles though my kitties and I live in Cheras.

Hi cookie

Home Pet in Sri Petaling. Do you know it? It's located near that infamous putrajaya dedicated highway and same row as the Overseas Dim sum retaurant and besides a mamak shop.

I think this is the one you patronise in Sri Petaling. The owner has his own maincoon cattery. I didn't get the dry run last night i'll go tonight instead.

Don't worry, you're in the company of crazies who run helter-skelter for cat food and cat litter...welcome to our club! my friend stays in bdr tun razak and he too travels far and wide to get orijen and natural balance for his babies. he says that Sri Petaling is nearer to him. perhaps you should call up the distributor and ask for the retail pet shop nearest to you, save you trouble also. you know how jamned the road is from cheras to sri petaling unless you go after the traffic jam or you use the middle ring road.

ehhh uhh, dont buy Iams please.. ever.. they do horrid animal testing.. ask Lynie.. hehe.

BRANDS TO BOYCOTT

As mentioned above, the main culprits for cruel and unethical animal testing are the major international 'pet' food businesses.

IAMS / Eukanuba owned by Procter & Gamble
Hills Science Diet owned by Colgate Palmolive
The majority of pet food brands available in the UK are produced by two animal testing companies - "Nestlé Purina/Friskies" and "Pedigree, Masterfoods (Mars Inc)."

Nestlé Purina/Friskies:
Alpo, Bonio, Felix, Go Cat, Gourmet,
Omega Complete, Proplan, Spillers, Vital Balance, Winalot.

Pedigree, Masterfoods (Mars Inc):
Bounce, Cesar, Chappie, Frolic, James Wellbeloved, Katkins,
Kitekat, Pal, Pedigree Chum, Royal Canin, Sheba,
Techni-cal (US & Canada), Whiskas.
Pedigree also manufacture Thomas rabbit food and Trill bird food.

NB Techni-Cal (Europe) although not owned by Pedigree, Masterfoods (Mars Inc) is still a company to boycott as they have not signed up to the BUAV No Animal Testing Standard.

i heard RC animal testing is just whether the pet likes the food or not.. but not like www.iamscruelty.com yet they has not signed the anti animal cruelty.. so they are on the list to boycott..

i am no vet, clearly.. but been doing my homework for cats (plan to adopt one).. seems the best food would be Royal Canin mixed with raw or just raw (except pork for the tryp-sumthin virus) and i read chicken wing is good for their dental health.. as grains/gluten sticks on their teeth building up tartar = smelly breath

the less frequency and quantity of poo due to better absorbed nutrients and odorless also mentioned for raw meat benefits, as well as increased energy (some cat owners screech).. i also read that Royal Canin adverts no more hairball due to healthy coat.. so there you go.. RC and raws... so yeah..

heehee thanks for remembering me and my journey to have a pet.

there is this cat owner that wanna giv her territorial cat to me.. some big hairy cat, she is coming to see my place tomorrow.. so yea.. been learning CAT 101 for 3 days.. very productive at work (sarcasm, clearly).

sigh.. the price to pay for a companionship.. cat furnitures, vet, grooming, royal canin, meat, time, money, risk of catching diseases, poo scooping, etc.. ahahaha sumtimes i think pet lovers are idiots, but hey, animal haters r sub human. heheehe..

Yes....every pet deserves the best health care , proper diet and nutrition and above all, our love, hugs and kisses through out their lives. We may have to spend a little bit more for problems like adam, but money cant buy the joy and happines adam and anna could bring to our families.

Thanks for the best wishes, I really need that.
Hi ashley,

I have purchased my 1st pack of allergy formula, duck and green peas for adam. I am still trying to make him eat the formula because he doesnt seem to like it at all. I tried not to give him any food before bedtime, hoping he would be sooo.. hungry in the morning, so he will eat the formula anyway...but he is much more stubborn than that. He still refused to eat the formula.

is there any other way to make him like it ? Can I mix the formula with natural balance can food ?(which I purchased together with the kibbles before I left for my hometown)

Thanks ashley....appreciate your reply soon.
