Tadi terbaca yang it is possible nak kembiri plus boarding sekali...means dia charge kiter kembiri plus boarding yang termasuk makan lah kan?..Kalau camtue senanglah.. cadang nak start buat cam kak June tapi sharing the house with family and my other half tak bagi kembiri..tapi difikirkan tengok anak2 kucing yang x terjaga bersepah kat kantin sekolah..asanya it's time I do someting about it..Kalau leh kembiri , tinggal kat vet sampai baik..oklah.. I have no idea pasal vet yang pandai kembiri sini..I plan to bawak g Peng Aun yang mana klinik dia sendiri dia rajin ambik kucing stray, ubatkan and bagi untuk adoption... Esok nak bawak si Bob check up and nak tanya sekali... and after that, one at a time lah kot... Kena buat M.O.U ngan pakcik kantin neh..

p/s I am scared the school will report the cats to SPCA...banyak kucing cantik... and last week I buat essay formal letter writing ..complaint letter regarding school canteen and it seems like the students started complaining about the adding up numbers of the strays... and teachers also dah bising pasal bulu atas kerusi bla bla bla... They are all beautiful strays..kebanyakkan ekor panjang cantik...macam Bengal pun ada 3 ekor...huhu

Default Neutering, What to expect, preparations??

Kasih, sebenarnya klu neuter & boarding biasanya vet private.klu gomen atau klinik kembiri yg kat Setapak KL ni,kita kena bawa balik & jaga kucing2 tu sendiri. yg private clinic tu of course mahallah siap dgn boarding.yg akak buat ni lepas kembiri bawa balik rmh jaga sendiri.simpan dlm cage. tp tak tau kat Penang ada klinik kembiri mcm kat KL ke??

Sebenarnya sekarang ni kucing kampung kita dah banyak cross breed dah...mana tak nye owner2 kucing DLH ni, tak spay/neuter their cats...bila musim mengawan je, berkeliaran la kucing2 cantik ni nak menagawan...yang jadi mangsa kucing2 stray esp yang betina...sadly, lepas abis musim mengawan, stray nilah yang beranak pinak...owner2 kucing DLh pulak lepakkk...

Ini pengalaman I sendiri, sebab I tengok kucing2 DLH ni banyak berkeliaran di kawasan perumahan I ni bila time mengawan....I bagi kucing2 liar makan...tengok2 kucing2 yang bertuan ni pun tumpang sekaki...dan mengawan kucing2 stray betina...Owner macam ni lah juga contribute banyaknya strays..

So, to those yang ada kucing tak kira jenis apa, kalau nak lepas kat luar untuk diorang makan angin sekejap, please la, make sure, u neuter or spay ur cats.

Nur, what you can do is to spearhead a TNR ("Trap-Neuter-Return/Release") program kat sekolah tu ie. work with SPCA to do a TNR program kat sekolah tersebut. If you have time, do a Google on TNR because it is the only proven solution to stray population management as implemented by many overseas SPCAs because these modern-minded and success-driven SPCAs overseas have discovered and come to a firm conclusion that the old traditional method of catch-and-kill (all, sick as well as good healthy animals) not only is a failure, it is indeed inhumane and cruel.

With the TNR method, they have been able to bring down the population of stray cats. They trap, neuter and then release back (after recuperation) the cats into the same area which they pick them up (cats are very territorial).

Cat lovers in the area then take it upon them to monitor and feed those cats at feeding stations set up discreetly and away from busy areas (in your school it can be around the gardeners' plant nursery (they will love to lepak around the numerous plants and hope you can find some cat loving gardeners who will enjoy having them around) away from the classrooms.

If you feed the cats well, they will loiter around less due to hunger because after a full stomach, they will all go find some quiet, shady place to sleep and only wander around at night since they are nocturnal creatures. In this way, most of the cats will not be visible and people will not go crying, "Ohhhhhhh!!!! Banyak nyer kucingggg ........."

However, most important for any TNR program to work, as strongly indicated by HK SPCA and others, the adult education program must be implemented to change the adult population's thinking and inculcate a tolerance towards animals living amidst us as God's creations.

Also, with a managed TNR colony of strays, the animals will be less likely to be unhealthy animals and have less diseases because the caregivers will be monitoring and take them for medical treatment.

Simply removing strays to dump somewhere else is just transfering the problem elsewhere and because nature abhores a vacuum, every removed stray will simply be replaced by another stray looking for a place to live and the problem is unending.

Alleycats.org is a good place of resource. I am glad I had stumbled upon that site and have learned so much and got many, many good ideas from there. Most importantly, I found that I was not alone.

Good luck!

Tak ader rahsia, Farahnm, saya kasi makan biasa mcm RC, dan daging ayam sekali-sekala, tak ada vitamin supplement langsung ... dan pastikan persekitaran rumah bersih dan selamat utk mereka. Tak payah mandi pun (aku malas!). Kalau kucing sihat, lawa lah mereka ... semua kucing gitu ... kasi ajer makanan premium ... yg tu aku tak kedekut sebab kesihatan mereka amat penting dan saya jimat belanja doktor.

Lihat penjelasan saya di mesej Post #30 kat http://forums.petfinder.my/showthread.php?t=2684&page=2.

Ya, projek mcm nie kena pandai-pandai enlist a few support members secara diam-diam ... one of them is definitely the school gardener sebab the plant nursery is very, very important as a hiding place ... also at least one cikgu influencial, dan kalau dapat of course the cikgu bosar ... hehehhehheeeeee!!! A reliable sekuriti guard also ... to feed and put in clean, fresh water especially on days when everyone is off.
