Smile Cat/Kitten with Down Syndrome

Hi friends,

I adopted 2 kittens(age 4 months old) with Down Syndrome or Neuro problem. They looks very adorable and healthy, but their movement is in-balance.
Some more, they seem cannot budget how far is something in front of them (such as food/water bowl/etc) so, every first time they near to something, they will bump their face on it.. pitty.. maybe sakit a bit..
and when they want to scratch their body, they will fall apart... so kesian.. but funny too... all those happen during every first time of their movement. After they got their balance, everything went normal. But will happen again when they start another movement.

Do anyone here have ever meet or taking care of cat or kittens with this problem? What do you do? can this in-balance or neuro problem be cured or reduced? (other then surgery)
Any special diet for them? or massage? or vitamins?

Please share. Thank you.

sounds to me like your kittens have co-ordination problems. did the vet diagnose them with down syndrome or was that what you guessed they have?

maybe you might find this reading helpful to see if your kittens have central nervous system disorder.

go to my thread at http://forums.petfinder.my/showthread.php?t=2325 , download the book, and opened chapter 12, and look under Central Nervous System.

hope this helps.

Hi blackie,

it is my guess from my reading in the internet, the way they describe is most likely the same as what the kitten shows. But the owner also did mention about the coordination thingy. And I am yet to bring them to vet coz I just took them yesterday evening. Maybe today after work, I will bring them to vets and see what they say and advice.
Thanks for your book and will do the reading.
