Question need your advice.

Hi,
3 weeks ago I send my 4 month old kitten, Minky, to a vet for his 1st vaccine. Then, on the 7th day Minky fell sick. He just laying down all day and can only walk a little. I send minky back to the vet and the vet said nothing wrong with him. The vet just asked me to give minky vitamin. The next day, minky's condition became worse. I went back to the vet and he said that as minky have breathing problem, he suggested that maybe Minky have got FIV or his diafragm may be broken. He also said that minky will survive only a few days. I felt very sad and at the same time did not satisfied with the vet. On the same day, I went to another vet. The 2nd vet said that nothing wrong with minky's breathing and suggested to send minky for blood test or x-ray test to find out the truth. I didn't do it but luckily minky has recovered and is healthy now .
The question is, the 1st vet has given a date for the 2nd vaccine (next week). Can I believe this vet and go through the vaccine? I don't want minky go through the horrible experience again as I no longer believe this vet anymore.

well... most probably the health problem was due to a reaction with the vaccine. for example when i neutered my cat she had problems with one of the drugs use so the doctor had to reverse it asap. it took a few hours for it to get done. anyway... if u dont trust the first then take him to another vet. there is a thread here that post vets recommended. go take a look and pick 1 of them.

Usually for dogs, we have the 2nd vaccine 1 month after the 1st. Possibly cats might be same. St Angel is quite good :)

Yes, the 2nd vaccination is called the booster, and it is necessary. Following the booster, you can then get one vaccination a year.

You wrote that the kitten fell sick about a week after the first vaccination, so I doubt it's an adverse reaction to the vaccine. That usually kicks in within a few hours, not days later. Still, if I were you, I would find a different vet and discuss your concerns when you bring your kitten in for the booster shot. It's important to have a vet whom you trust and with whom you feel comfortable. Good luck! :-)
