Actually, spaying is a very good for the cat. It can make it more healthier, and you don't need to take care of more kitties than you can. Plus, there is many more cat/kitten out there that needed home and it wouldn't be a good idea to add more. So please spay your cats. All my cats are spayed with my neighbours and my rescuer help. :)

Hi, Aldot -- I do understand your concerns about spay/neuter surgery, but in the long run, neutering is best both for the health of your cats, for their quality of life, and also to prevent over-breeding. Maybe you could start by reading a couple of articles on the advantages of spaying and neutering:
on neutering toms: http://www.petfinder.my/library/17_B..._Of_Neutering/
on spaying queens:
http://www.petfinder.my/library/18_Benefits_Of_Spaying/
I would also recommend speaking to your vet about your concerns!

Re: Shud I spay n neuter my cats?
Yes, you should spay and neuter them if you want to prevent over breeding. Cats breed really fast. They can have up to 8 kittens per litter. Just think of this, do you want to take care of all the kittens your cats will have in future? If you give them away, will they be taken care properly?
If you're worried about the surgery, it's not a big issue. After 3-4 days your cats will be active again and by one week, the wound will heal already.
You don't have to worry about them not being able to "mate". If you spay/neuter them, they won't have the urge anyway. They'll be the same happy kitties. You also don't have to deal with their "heat" period of very loud and annoying "meowing" all night. It will drive you crazy.

Meffy's right about the howling of a queen in heat, and think also about the behavioural benefits of neutering toms: it nearly always eliminates territorial spraying, which stinks to high heaven, and a neutered tom is less likely to go roaming all over in search of mates and then come home covered with bites and scratches after fighting with rival toms. Truly, they'll be happy, playful, loving pets.

Re: Shud I spay n neuter my cats?
Well, it is advisable unless you plan to breed them. I’m sure you know the advantage of spaying the cat. It leads to longer and healthier lives and no more loud yowling or other undesirable behaviors. Don’t worry, it will not alter your cats personality.
I got my boy cat fixed last December. He recovered very well and he’s still an active cat and happy living in the house. Oh yeah, this saturday, I’m gonna do the same to my girl cat before she goes into heat.
Talk to your vet about it and s/he can help you with your decision. Good luck!
