Re: Lost dog FOUND in BATU VILLAGE, JLN IPOH, KL
Dear Samantha
We are really glad that you took him in. I would though suggest that you put the picture in the petfinder pet listings in lost and found. The things are that:
1. The owner may not be or see this forum.
2. The dog might have wandered for 40-50 kilometers away, or more, or less, might not be anywhere near Jl. Ipoh, someone might have took him in before and release again.
3. Many dog owners who lost their dog from chihuahua to rottweilers, all sorts of age and gender are going to look for you, plus the ones who would like to get it for profit, or people who knew people who lost a dog. You would need tremendous patience to deal with them all.
4. You can get confirmation of the owner eventhough you posted that pic by:
- microchip,
- certain marks on the body that the picture does not show,
- ask the claimed owner to provide several pictures of the dog with the family.
- what is the name of the dog and whether the dog responds to it
- whether the dog knows them when you arrange a meeting
5. You can also set terms that without "old" picture of the dog and certain description, inquiries will not be entertained.
If not, the dog will not get the publicity you both need and in the end its a lose lose situation.
For example, i lost my dog too, and i know he has numbers tattooed inside his ear (pedigree mark), and he responds to his name, the tounge has a little cut, his back molar on the left is chipped (he chewed our door), and i have tonnes of his pic from puppy to adulthood.
these are some of the things that only the owner knows.. or any good owners.. if they dont know these things.. might as well rehome it to someone else!
hope this will help for some kind rescuer too.
