Dog Lost in Setia Alam
I have lost my dog in Setia Alam on 27th May 2008. It is a Pomeranian, cream/beige, less than a foot tall and has long fur. If you know of its whereabouts, kindly inform me.

Re: Dog Lost in Setia Alam
Hi Kweepeng,
What's your dog's name? We'll keep a lookout for it.
You can also take some photos of it, make it into a simple flyer and post it at your nearby pet shops as well as distribute it to the houses around your neighbourhood.
You might also want to check with DBKL and PAWS (for KL) or MBPJ and SPCA (for Selangor), just in case he was mistaken as a stray and captured by the authorities.
Hope you are reunited with your pet soon.

Re: Dog Lost in Setia Alam
Thanks Andy.
It's name is Metta.
I have pasted his picture at restaurants, some busy shops and guard house entrances.
I think it is quite impossible to mistake my tiny, furry Pomeranian for a stray. It is only about 1 foot long.
Btw, I had described my dog as beige but my neighbour think it is orange.
Andy, I have checked out your site. I think you are very capable and really doing a good course. Well done!

Re: Dog Lost in Setia Alam
Thanks for your compliments, kweepeng. You can also try driving around your area and looking into the house compounds, he could have roamed into someone's house and the person kept him there. There was an earlier case where the person found her dog being held captive at a nearby house and the kidnapper refused to give it back, until she threatened to make a police report and scan the dog's microchip ID to prove his identification.
This makes me wish that there was a dog tracking service available. Just like how sniffer and tracker dogs are trained to locate drugs or people, we can have a dog sniffer squad for locating lost dogs. I'm sure the sniffer dog can easily locate the strong scent left behind by the roaming dog, unless it is kidnapped into a vehicle. And I'm sure paying for the service is not a problem as most of us treat the dog as part of our family and will do whatever it takes to find him back.
Good luck in trying to find Metta and we'll all keep a lookout for him.

Re: Dog Lost in Setia Alam
Andy and Ezer,
Thank you.
I have drove, cycled and walked.... This is rather a heart wrenching experience.
Metta does not have a microchip. I also had thoughts of sniffer dogs during my search. They would be a great help.
During my search, a wild dog sniff at my shoes and looked at me as if knowing where Metta was. I walked with him for 1km and he kept turning around to see if I am following. I walked with a big dog that I don't know! Then my phone rang and he ran off. He may be trying to tell me Metta walked there before or I could have gone bonkers out of desperation. This wild dog may have wondered why a silly woman keep following him. If only I understand dog language.
My confidence of finding Metta is waning. It's already the 4th day. Sigh!
Thanks for listening. Needed to talk to someone who understands.

Hey Kwee Peng,
You have a nice dog.. I think that even if you don't find it, and I really, really hope you do, that chances are some ppl may have taken it and given it a good home.
But hang in there.. I have had a dog run off before and came back months later..

Re: Dog Lost in Setia Alam
Hi Andy,
I thought I replied to you at about 5pm but since I don't see it, I am writing again.
No, we didn't find Metta. But we found a mix Golden Retriever instead. Or rather, the GR found us. She kept coming to our house.
We found her owner who thinks his GR will be happier with us. So we decided to keep her.

Hi Kwee Peng,
Sorry to hear that you couldn't find Metta... but it is indeed wonderful and coincidental that you came across the golden retriever in such a timely manner, and that the owner has agreed to let you keep it.
Please feel free to share with us your new dog's photos!
