Kalau cirit-birit, DO NOT give dry kibbles ... wet can food pun kurang elok sebab dia punya digestive system dah kelam-kabut ... biasanya utk yg beragama Islam, vet akan recommend bagi daging ayam kukus sahaja sehingga poo dia elok balik ... utk yg bukan Islam, the cat will be given the Hills' veterinary I/D diet (stands for Intestinal Diet, a special diet for cats having diarrhea ... it contains easy to digest protein which help the upset digestive system to recover).
Normal dry kibbles contains too high fat content and canned wet food too much sodiium, among other thing.
Quickly check whether the cat is dehydrated ... mild or severe (tarik scruff dia dan tengok whether the skin goes down very slowly, slow or biasa). Kalau tak tahu mcm mana is keadaan normal, tarik kulit scruff kucing lain dan lihat how fast the skin goes back down.
Kalau sudah dehydrated, kasi dia air sedikit using syringe from the side of the mouth into the cheek pouch and also the head is not tegak to prevent the liquid from entering the lungs bila dia sedut udara as this will cause a lung infection which is serious!
Normally, Euanna, if the cat enggan makan and is having diarrhea and dehydrated, I will rush the cat to the medical centre (not a normal clinic) to be hospitalised so that the cat can be put on the drip (IV) immediately.
I may be wrong but kemungkinan besar Neko-chan is very stressed with her illness and all the medication yg tiba-tiba diberi sekali gus put a big toll on her digestive system, poor cayang ...
Kalau dia tak selera makan, mash the steamed/lightly boiled chicken is a little warm water. Squeeze out the juice from the chicken and remove it for another cat to eat. Use a syringe and suck up the kuah ayam pekat and kasi Neko-chan slowly from the side of the mouth (bukan dari depan dan jangan tegakkan kepala dia ... masuk paru-paru nanti!) and give the liquid very, very slowly, giving her time to swallow bit by bit. Remember, be very slow and careful not to get the liquid into the lungs and cause infection!
