Cat Flu
Finally, Bob is down with cat flu. Conjuctivitis seen, gingivitis shown. Watery eyes.. Dia dah 3 hari tak aktif.. duduk jer satu tempat.. bila diberi ubat..tido jer..pastue ari nieh i perasan makan pun tak nak.. Tadi i rebus ayam.. paksa dia makan.. 3 cubit masuk mulut.. air dia pun dah diganti ngan air rebusan ayam. Vet da pergi 2 ari lepas.. been giving him 3 tablets x 2 times per day.. Mata tue 2x sari letak ubat mata yang vet bagi.. I rasa keadaan dia makin teruk..masa bawak g vet tue makan jugak..sekarang refuse makan...
Persoalannyer.. I dah kesian tengok dia camtue.. nak tunggu lagi 2 hari ke ( doc bagi ubat 5 hari..kalau tak baik datang balik katanya )..atau esok jugak I g carik second opinion.. This is my first time facing something very worrying like this.. Teruk2 sakit pun before tak pernah tak mo makan... Anybody?

Re: Cat Flu
I would like to suggest amino solution but I don't know whether it can be find on your place. It is some sort of all-in vitamins in a liquid that can boost apetite for your lil furry friend.
Understood that it might not want to eat, force feeding will only result in vomitting it back out, oral discomfort as I may presume. I rasa it might be best to feed it meds and water as main intention now and I know it won't sound nice, since it won't be eating. But bare in mind, cat can last longer for not eating rather than not drinking.
Only antibodies can let the body fend off the sickness. I wish the best for him and good luck to you.

Re: Cat Flu
Hmm...looking the weather, noticeable it is very hot at day and darn cold at night for raining heavily. It is possible for cat to catch fever during nowadays, symptoms are lethargy and loosing apetite.
What we can help is try to offer them food but always help feed water to them. At times, get an ice cube and try to let them lick it from your hands. . Cats that are experiencing diarehea are easily loosing liquid from their body system, thus proceeding to becoming dehydrated. Sian dorang .
Anyways, I pray that CiCi and Bob will be recovering well soon. Amin

You are rite Syunichi, when I checked on him this morning..I can see that he vomit one chunk of chic meat.. And about the second vet advise..I do not think it is a good idea as far as I am concern..while googling last night.. I got to know that cat flu will not cure but will just go away , hiding.. Waiting for the matter of stress or any changes..it will emerge back. Maybe he got worse when I took him to the vet as he always is fierce with vet ( not very happy with vets I think.. Like he can smell it ..)..
As for today.. I clean him up with a wet towel.. clean his nose and eyes with salty warm water.. mashed the kibbles into liquid and pump in the liquid and fresh water..He did not fight anyway.. After that, I gave him his med..and when I was about to give him his last med.. he fought back.. Aww..good sign.. Extra energy being put there.. .. Then, some eye oilment..and he went back to sleep..
I think it will be good for now.. Crossing my fingers for his recovery.. I read dat cat flu can go up to a week or 2.. Is it?
p/s yeah..his body is a bit warm..demam agaknya..I'll try and find amino solution dekat pet shop jap g..

Re: Cat Flu
Yes exactly. I remember now, eye drops+antibiotics+amino. Those are what I gave to cats with flu. It is cured somewhere before a week period. But again a fever can be beneficial because it helps the immune system get rid of infections. So, cross fingers. I pray for your furry kid to get well soon. Amin.

Given him his 2nd med for today.. hoping to see him fully recovered in a day or two..
