td pagi bawa Mokmok gi jumpa Dr Jonathan ambik blood test and all.rupanya dia alergik to fleas bite. nasib baik bukan haemobotanella (lebih kuranglah bunyi camtu,tak sempat nak tulis td nama penyakit tu). dapat sikit ubat dan kena sembur seluruh badan dgn ubat kutu.pastu seisi rmh kucing suma kena sembur juga.hai!! terbang duit RM138 pasal si mokmok ni. tahun lalu si mokmok dah gi 2 x buat blood test.takde apa.tp lately aku tgk dia punya badan ada tompok2 kat tengkuk dan bontot.kena gigitan fleas. {sick}

Oooohhh ... yitu tompok-tompok bulu hilang kaaaa ... yes, flea or mite (my Alpha kena hari tu) allergy, buat gatal jadi dia garu ...

Mak aiii!!! Mahal nyer ... my Alpha's treatment only cost a total of RM Dua puluh lebey lepas diskaun ... ubat Ivermectin (given according to body weight) baru lebih kurang RM5. Cuma buat ear swap cari punca ear mites dan jumpa satu ekor ajer ... kawan nie suker melawat kampung lama dia di mana terdapat belaan anjing. Nasib baik yg lain tak ader yg ikut dia ...

June kena taroh Frontline Combo spot on kasi semua kucing. Will PM you next week a little more on this.

Tapi I think Dr Jon buat blood test (itu yg buat mahal) to investigate kenapa si Mokmok tak mokmok langsung. Does she have diabetes?

hah!!! suami aku perasan ada tompok bulu hilang.aku pun jd risau.terus call Dr Jonathan buat appointment ari ni.tp tompok tu takde sebelum ni.jd aku pun tak tau nape jd mcm ni. aku beli satu botol besar dgn Dr Jon pasal tu jd mahal RM138.termasuk blood test,deworm sekali.tp dr jon kata dari blood test takde penyakit yg aku cakap td.tp ada alergik.so dia bg sejenis ubat mcm liquid,aku tak sempat baca nama ubat tu.aku pakai campak atas katil tadi dan rush ke office. balik nanti aku belek.masa kat klinik dia kena sembur frontline dan deworm.aku bawa balik frontline tu.karang kucing kat rmh aku kena sembur sekali juga. tak cukuplah 1 botol tu utk 10 ekor yg lain.esok kena beli lg klu tak cukup 1 botol frontline tu.

diabetes dan lain2 takde.suma ok.alergik tu je.

Oooh, pada tompok-tompok di mana bulu hilang tu saya tak letak apa-apa, dan bulu tumbuh balik sendiri dah ... lebat dan comel kembali mcm dulu. But I give her satu tablet of Brewer's Yeast every few days for the bulu and skin recovery.

She was given 3 doses of ivermectin (1 dose per week) to get rid of the mites. Lepas the first dose, dia dah mula berhenti menggaru and beransuran semboh. The other 2 doses are to complete the treatment.

You know, June, instead of the expensive medication yg vet kasi, you could have used your Gamat instead and it would have worked even better and less toksik sebab kucing akan menjilat. Genuine and pure Gamat like the one that you used on PP is very, very effective. {good}

Brewer yeast aku ada beli yg dulu ko recommendkan. yg ubat liquid vet bg utk generate blood si Mokmok.dia byk hilang darah sebab kutu makan.

Gamat?? gel gamat blh letak kat tompok botak tu tp aku tak blh sapu seluruh badan dia dgn gel.karang licinlah dia mcm belut.heheheh!!

vet charge RM138 termasuk deworm,blood test,1 botol 250ml frontline spray dan ubat liquid utk tambah darah mokmok.

{sick} Sakit perut ko buat aku nie, June ... bukan sapu satu badan la, tapi put a little on your finger and apply a thin film on to the skin where the missing fur is and rub it in gently for a few seconds bagi dia resap because she is gonna lick it.

Repeat 2-3 times a day for several days.

Wah, the flea infestation is so very bad that Mokmok dah jadi anaemic ke? Then she must have been scratching all over especially her neck and kefala for some time ... June tak notice ke? If she is so bad, the other kids mesti must have been doing the scratching dance together too and you and hubby must have experienced bites and red bumps on your body then ...

Oh, yes, kalau semua dah kena, all the other kids kena deworm, including yourself and your hubby sebab fleas carry worm infestation across when they bite.

No lah.he's not sombong but he own cats so maybe like me also.not sure if the medication can use on dogs or not. U go to Dogs and Puppy thread similar like Cats & Kittens thread.You can post at the Health & Disease section.I'm sure doggie lover will help you {good}

Kimi. go buy the Frontline Combo for dog (but check your dog weight and size - got S for small, M for medium and L for Large). Make sure you get the Combo one which covers mites which is very common problem for dogs. The fleas and mites get killed within 48 hours. If you have bathed your dog, make sure you wait 2 days before applying and after applying , if you wana bath your dogs wait 2 days also. Do not apply the Frontline more frequently than once in 30 days.

I can recommend few good vet. maybe other forumers also can recommend good vet?? if you stay in Kajang/Bangi,Serdang area u can go to Pakcu's shop.His shop is in Bangi. near Petronas after Bangi toll. FYI, the Frontline Combo (for dogs or cats) are only sold at clinics, not at pet shops ... pet shops only sell the Frontline Spray and the ordinary spot-on that does not address mites and I personally prefer something which protects my cats from mites as well because it is so easy for them to pick it up and they end up with extra problems. It just cost a little bit more than the normal spot-on but very worth it! {good}{good}

The box containing 3 pipettes for large dogs (combo type) costs around RM80 in vet clinics.

The treatment protects your pet for a month. I am waiting for the one that can protect them for 6 months but it is still not available in our country after so long ... have to get from Singapore.

Kimi, puppy.com is a very good website for dogs and you get lots of dog advice there. {good}{good}

June and I just happen to have our kefala screwed on in the same direction ... know how to laugh at things and not get too serious over trivial things ... got similar sense of humour and talk pretty much at the same frequency ... we are both very strong personalities with strong opinion of things around us, got a strong sense of what is right and what is wrong and not afraid to say so ... and we simply happen to hit it off ... chemistry ngam-ngam one .... but I think the most important is that we both respect each other very much as persons {wink}

There are lots of people out there in the forum and if you stay on long enough, you will find several like minded and like hearted people that you hit it off well with ... there won't be many, but there will be one or two and that is more than enough for you to have a good time poking each other in the ribs, don't worry ... {good}

aduh... mmg letih kalau ada hal ngan flea or mite nih.. baru nie saya pun kena... sekor tu bulu kat ekor semakin kurang... mula2 ingatkan sebab si Bengal yang selalu jelous kan bulunya tapi makin lama makin kurang.. last2 terjumpa setompok kesan botak kecil kat belakang badan.. mcm alergik... check2 ada hama yang pada mulanya nampak macam habuk jer.. terus bawa pergi vet.. sekarang dah takder menatang hama yang tak diundang tu tapi still monitor hari2.. kesian jer tengok dia yang dah kekurangan bulu.. huhuhuhu...

Man kena apply Frontline Combo spot-on sebulan (30 hari) sekali selama sekurang-kurangnya 3 bulan supaya break the flea life-cycle takut esok ada telur yg menetas kemudian dan kena reinfection semula.

Bila dah apply Frontline tu, ubat akan diserap masuk ke sebaceous glands kat kulit kucing dan spread out dekat bulu kucing.

Sekiranya ada flea yg baru menetas dan lompat ke kucing, it will be killed when it brushes against the fur, tak payah gigit kucing pun dia akan mati on contact with the fur making it very effective as a means of protection for the cats. Setengah ubat flea memerlukan flea menggigit dan menghisap darah kucing baru akan mati, jadi kalau tak gigit tak akan mati dan kalau kena gigit, flea tersebut boleh pass on some diseases to the cat dan kucing pun boleh suffer allergy akibat gigitan bisa itu.

Try to get the Combo (only sold at the vet's) instead of the normal spot-on atau spray yg dapat dibeli merata-rata petshop.

Yang combo tu ada lindungan tambahan utk mencegah mites. Yang lain tu cuma bunuh fleas.

Don't wokri, kawan ... kasi ajer kibbles premium kat dia ... tunggu beberapa minggu/bulan elok lah kembali bulu dia ... kalo kasi makan makanan premium tak payah supplement aper-aper pun gerenti bulu akan lawa punyer sebab makanan tersebut dah serba mencukupi dan memenuhi AAFCO punyer nutritional requirement harian utk kucing yg sihat. {good}

Hate, yang saya baca dari website diorang tu kan, mereka kata taroh dekat satu (1) tempat sahaja, jangan dua atau lebih, dan mesti semua terkena kat KULIT (supaya mendapat penyerapan ke dalam kulit secara terbaik - jangan tuangkan kat bulu! kena pisahkan bulu tu utk mencapai kulit dia!) satu tempat iaitu belakang leher (back of neck) between shoulders iaitu tempat yg paling tak dapat dia jilat sebab Frontline tu ambik masa lama utk kering and menyerap ke dalam kulit (dia tak masuk darah, tapi masuk ke dalam oil glands dia di kulit) dan selepas itu, ubat akan mengalir dalam kulit seluruh badan.

Ubat tu bila letak kat kulit kucing tu akan ambil masa jadi berminyak dan lepas tu ambil masa at least separuh hari utk betul-betul kering. Sebab tu lah biasanya kita dinasihatkan utk masukkan kucing ke dalam sangkar sehingga betul-betul kering bagi menjamin perlindungan yg lama utk kucing.

Ubat tersebut yg akan disimpan dalam oil glands di kulit akan masuk ke bulu kucing sedikit-sedikit and continue to do so selama satu bulan.

Dengan tindakan ini, sebarang flea yg lalu kat bulu kucing akan dibunuh on contact ... tak payah dia gigit kucing pun. Ini adalah kelebihan Frontline berbanding dengan produk jenama lain yg membuat ianya sangat berkesan.

Tapi saya suka ikut satu panduan lagi yg menasihatkan letak Frontline tu bukan satu spot di kulit between shoulder tapi at the base of the skull belakang leher sebab tempat ni paling susah dia nak kacau dengan tangan dia.

hm hm............. saya tertanya2 sebab masa last time letak frontline.. doc suruh letak 1 pipet kat sherbet (sbb dia bdn besar sikit.. 3kg + ).. tapi Salem (masa tu dlm 1kg + berat dia..) setengah pipet aje...........

Sekarang Salem dah 2kg.. adakah dia kena letak full pipet atau 1/2 aje? {sick}

Tanya sikit.. biasanya kalau flea allergy tu..berapa lama akan hilang? Saya dah letak frontline combo kat semua anak2 bulus kat rumah ni.. Tengah dalam proses membersihkan rumah dari flea........ tapi tengok Salem still tergaru2 dan bald patch makin banyak (padahal dah kena inject di hosp vet cheras)....

So.. berapa lama dia akan stop scratching??

kesiannyer Yan, susah kalau anak2 bulus kene kutu. Dulu masa mula2 bela kucen pernah gak kene. Sumer karpet pun kak zai hantar dry clean. Takut ada telur dan bersarang dlm tu. Skrg umah kak zai guna tikar buluh tu aje. Senang nak sapu atau vakum. Lantai kene mop setiap hari.

lepas ni Yan pastikan setiap bln spray durg dgn front-line atau letak frontline combo. Kalau salem masih bergaru, tunggu aje. Frontline combo efek agak perlahan tapi tahan sebulan. Dia slowly meresap ke bawah kulit dan bunuh sumer mites yg ada. Inject tu untuk apa Yan ?

Inject untuk flea allergy rasanya (tu doktor kata)... saya dah vakum habis satu rumah.. phew... {sweat} .. siap buat perangkap flea lagi (jumpa kat internet..) ada effect..dapat tangkap 5-6 flea 1st day.. dah letak frontline combo kat semua budak2 ni.... sekarang tunggu. Tapi bila tengok balik Salem ni.. nak kata flea allergy..takde pulak luka2 atau ruam... cuma bulu togel sana sini kat kepala, dagu dan tergaru2 mostly kat muka / leher.

Saya takut kot2 Salem allergy makanan... {cry2}{sick} ..tadi pegi MPH curik2 baca buku cat's owner veterinary handbook (uih.. RM123 {cry}{cry}) .. tulis situ maybe jugak sebab salah makan. Salem alah dgn kitzyme tablet ke? Sebab saya start bagi budak2 ni makan minggu lepas...... tak lama lepas tu Salem start togel2 bulu {ohmygod}{cry}{cry}. Buat masa ni saya stop dulu kitzyme, tengok macam mana {sick}

ni la risau Kak June.. dia still tergaru2.. makin banyak bald patch.. dan dah nampak ada kudis kat dagu {cry}{cry}.. padahal dah letak frontline combo... dah vacuum rumah, pasang perangkap flea.. doktor dah inject..tapi dia still tergaru2 {cry}{cry}

Terpikir nak cari gamat gel atau aloe vera... tapi.. ok ke, untuk kurangkan kegatalan tu?

hi, just nak bagai pandangan, im a lil unsure abt using aloe vera on a cat because i use it on myself and i have to say bila memula letak kat kulit it will feel cool or will sting a bit lagi2 kalau macam tempat tu bekas garu or exposed wound. Rasanya can get very pedih jugak lah so I rasa mungkin tak sesuai letak kat kucing. Takut dieorg tak tahan pulak dgn kepedihan tu. Tapi byk dengar org letak minyak gamat. Tak pernah try tapi rasanya sebab ramai org pakai boleh letak tanpa kesan sampingan. I'm not sure about gel gamat tapi kalau letak kat kulit sendiri tak pedih atau sakit so kalau antara gel gamat and aloe vera,baik gamat =)

Hmm.. dah guna jel gamat kat area yang gatal2 tu dan nampak dah kurang sangat2, bulu pun dah tumbuh balik.. Sebelum ni, dah start botak dan ada kesan kudis (esp bawah dagu ) .. sekarang dah takde ..
