Salam forumers...

Saya ade sedikit masalah ni... dah naik pening pikir..susah hati jangan cakaplah kan.. {scared} kucing saya dapat luka abt 2 mths ago..ingatkan luka biasa je, saya lap la dengan antiseptic and letak gamat tak sangka luka tu ade maggot pulak.. saya pun hantar kucing ke veterina..then kucing tu kene undergo surgery.. tapi lepas surgery luka tu tak baik-baik la.. saya pun bawak pegi veterina lain pulak.. depa bg ubat sapu..tak jugak baik-baik..saya bawak lagi pegi veterina lain ( dah 3 veterina ni) yang vet kali ni..bagi cream sapu jugak.. luka die kering la at last... tapi yang memeningkan pagi ni saya check berair balik.. adoiiiiiiii dah pening nak pikir.. saya menjaga kucing tu baik-baik, saya kuarantinkan die.. setiap hari bersihkan luka, sapu ubat.. kandang dia saya spray dengan dettol (takot jangkitan kuman sekeliling) tapi result nya masih sama.. mak saya ckp kucing ni ade diabetes kot..luka tak baik-baik.. ade pendapat vet kate kucing saya maybe kene jangkitan virus.. sbb tu tak baik-baik..tapi apa yang saya tengok kucing saya tak menunjukkan ciri-ciri kucing yang tgh sakit.. dia makan+minum+poo-poo mcm biasa.. cuma die agak stress sbb kene kurung dan pakai e-collar je...ade tak sesapa boleh tolong saya?? i need some advice macam mane nak sembuhkan kucing ni... {cry} {cry} {cry}

Hai bakawali

Amboi nama, sempoi. Macam ni dik, sebaik sebaik ubat untok luka ialah antibiotik, ni menolong luka tu dari dalam, tapi kena bagi 2 kali satu ari. Dan kena la pakaikan color penghalang kucing ni dari menjilak atau mengaru luka tu. Kalau tak memang susah luka tu nak baik. Dan kuching adik ni dah vacin ke, mungkin tak kot sebab tu jangkitan mudah berlaku.

Biasanya, Vet akan nasihatkan kita cara untok menjaga luka luka ni, cuba adik poskan gambar, bolihlah kami ramai ramai bagi pendapat.

sebenarnya kucing ni tak pernah vaccine.. tak mampu sbb dulu-dulu mane ade duit {cry}.. belajar lagi.. kucing-kucing baru je yang sy pegi anta vaccine sbb skang dah ade pendapatan sendiri.. kucing tu mmg pakai kolar perlindungan tu supaya die tak dapat nak jilat luka tu.. saya ade bg antibiotic, tapi sejak bagi makan antibiotic luka die macam makin parah pulak.. kalau saya tak bagi macam ok je..ke itu adalah proses nak baik ek? tapi mcm dah lama la.. dah nak masuk bulan ke 3 ni.. saya dah malas nak pegi vet.. ntah ape2 yang drg advice..siap suruh saya jab bagi mati la tu la ni la.. kalau boleh saya nak sembuhkan kucing ni jugak..dia tak nampak merana pun sbb sakit cuma luka die je tak kering-kering..erm photo nanti saya upload kan..tak buleh nak bluetooth dr hp ke pc pulak...

Bakawali (my Mum used to have this pokok when i was small, and oleh kerana jarang berbunga we used to stay up sama sama to see the petals kembang, masa tu bulan terang, cuaca cerah, angin sejuk malam bertiup perlahan lahan, dok kat tangga rumah kampung - nice memories with my Mum {happy}).

Vet ada suggest sporo tak ? My friend pernah ada kucing yg lukanya tak baik baik. Luka di satu jari kaki. Letak ubat, luka tu kering kat atas. Tp bawahnya, bila dicabut part yg kering tu, tetap berair. Nampak mcm nak merebak ke jari lain pulak.
Kami pi a few vets, inilah jadinya :
Vet No. 1 : need more time to study apa sakit dia
Vet No. 2 : suspected sporo, kena potong kaki dia smpai atas.
Vet No. 3 : beri ubat luka & antibiotik baik lah nanti (kena dtg berkali kali)
Vet No. 1 : masih tak habis study lagi
Vet No. 4 : Munkin sporo. Tp just in case - Potong sikit isi kaki yg berjangkitan tu, cuci dgn ubat anti-sporo, jahit semula. Monitor sampai masa utk cabut stitches.

Solution dari Vet No4 yg berkesan. Nasib baik tak potong kaki kucing tuh.
Masalahnya, vet No4 ni charge mahal. Yg lebih penting, kucing tu sembuh.

Lepas tuh, sekor lagi bahagian "tut" dia luka tak sudah. Started bila dicakar oleh kucing stray masa bergaduh. My friend tak nak neuter the cat, at last kena potong "tut" kucing tuh sbb ditakuti merebak. Tp sebenarnya, sy rasa, vet tu nak "make" my friend neuter the cat supaya tak jadi mangsa bergaduh lagi.

Sporo nih kalau tak treated early, can become a nightmare to cat & owner.
I've seen some yg dah merebak masuk hidung, mulut, etc. How to cut the nose ? Vet kata terpaksa ditidurkan supaya tak suffer. {cry}

Your cat kena tang mana ? 2 bulan agak lama juga.

oow...vet tu tak pulak ckp pasal sporo ni..die taktau kot {shy}... my cat kene tang punggung.. mase kene maggot tu vet tu dah charge kite sampai ratus2..tapi tak baik2 pun.. btw, vet mane yang no.4... i just cant accept andai kate die perlu di tidurkan {cry}{cry}{cry} sbb tu berusaha jugak nak sembuhkan die..betul la.. kering sekejab ke lepas tu berair balik.. menyedihkan.. {cry} {cry} {cry}

This the Pix.. bulu dah kene shave sbb nak bt surgery keluarkan maggot tu.. actually kene beberapa stiches tapi bile dah bukak jadi luka balik..

Hmm kesian your cat and you the kind minder. I pernah experience with my cat luka tak baik dekat front paw, sapu ubat kering kejap lepas tu jadi balik until about two months. Luka tu jadi at a few places dekat the tempat luka yang pertama. Macam abcess pun ada and berair. Finally my vet gave him a strong antibiotic jab, he suspected kena some sort of jangkitan kuman and dia kata bukan sporo. So now he is totally cured after the jab.
So take you cat to another vet, which area is convenient for you? I have a few vets I can recommend.
Jangan give up and terus usaha ya, insyaallah boleh sembuh. PM me if you need vet numbers.

I stay in Petaling Jaya so any vet within klang valley shud be fine.. i mmg tanak 'tidurkan' dia..selagi terdaya i nak rawat jugak.. {victory} {victory}

Pagi tadi saya letak minyak gamat.. mane la tau boleh keringkan luka..kucing ni lasak pun boleh tahan.. saya takde 24/7 nak monitor..bila jenguk je die start la dia baring kat part yang luka tu.. habis ubat yang kite sapu tu.. pernah sekali tu sampai rase hilang sabar penat2 saya sapu ubat dia landing baik punya sampai hilang ubat sapu tu.. saya termarah dia..lepas tu saya blah.. dalam 2 jam baru saya datang balik..dia buat muka kesian..kekonon nak saya 'sejuk' la tu..ubat tu saya sapu balik, kali ni dia tak berani nak landing part yang disapu ubat tu.. takot saya marah agaknya.. saya marah bukan tak sayang tapi saya nak dia sembuh.. dia buat perangai pulak..jadik tense {cry}

anyway saya akan try la mana2 yang patut.. manelah tau boleh kering dan sembuhkan luka tu.. thanks all~ {love}{love}

MissBakawali, sekiranya luka tersebut diakibatkan oleh "Sporotrichosis", tempat luka mungkin boleh sembuh buat ketika tetapi oleh kerana "Sporotrichosis" adalah "systemic" makna fungus tersebut masuk ke dalam badan (lymphatic system) dan merebak ke seluruh badan secara dalaman, maka lama-kelamaan, tempat lain dalam badan kucing akan keluar luka juga, termasuk organ-organ utama dalaman badan.

It is a slow, painful death for the cat and "Sporotrichosis" is very contagious to other cats as well as to human. The wound site oozes out fluid which contains a high concentration of the fungus and will infect others very easily.

The human form is called "Gardener's disease" tapi utk manusia ada ubatnya. Tetapi yg malangnya adalah ubat tersebut amat toksik utk kucing dan dengan itu, tiada rawatan utk kucing yg kena penyakit tersebut dan MESTI di binasakan demi kebaikan semua.

Bukan satu pengalaman yg baik dan senang utk kita melalui tetapi we must be strong and must do the right thing for the cat, as well as for the others.

MissBakawali, ada vet baik dan cekap yg dapat buat diagnosis secara tepat dan betul samada kucing puan ada menghidapi "Sporotrichosis" dengan menggunakan mikroscop dan lampu cahaya. Tetapi tolong jangan letak sebarang krim ke atas luka sebelum menjalankan ujian ini sebab krim boleh memberi "false positive". Vet yg cekap, bertauliah dan professional akan menerangkan dengan baik kepada tuan kucing berkenaan sebarang masalah. Vet cekai saja yg tak buat demikian. Pilih vet dengan cermat dan bijak!

Perhaps Bakawali's case nih maybe bukan sporo sbb ada maggots ? But again, most of us i.e. me, are not experts and will just share what little experience we have. Baguslah kalau awak tak cepat mengalah, Bakawali. Kita cuba sedaya yg boleh.

I'm still on the lookout for well-experienced vets. I don't like the idea of going thru trial and error with my cats anymore. I believe there are a lot of good vets out there, but sometimes there are others more experienced & knowledgeable in certain areas.

For Sporotrichosis, I do not bring to a govt clinic because they do not do euthanisation. I bring the cat (I am now familiar enough to know quite confidently whether it is sporotrichosis and have euthanised several strays that I went out to catch and put to sleep so that they will not infect other strays ... not a pleasant thing to do, in fact it was very, very, very tough indeed, but I had to be disciplined and strong to do it for the sake of disease control and for the sake of all the other strays) straight to a private clinic for a final diagnosis and confirmation and straight PTS.

In life sometimes we are faced with very tough decisions that have to be carried out and we need to be strong enough to do it. Not easy to pull a trigger, but when it has to be done, it simply has to be done, otherwise the consequences is much, much worse. Standing by doing absolutely nothing is often worse that doing something, tak kira betul ke tak, at least do something! Kalau betul, it will have good positive effects, kalau tak betul, at least you learn from it and can do it right the next time.

But standing by doing absolutely nothing is by far the worst thing to do.

Luckily I had to do it only once. I first spotted somebody's pet male cat with Sporo sores on the base of its tail. Then another spot appeared on his shoulders (they often appear at fight injury sites - that is often how it is spread from cat to cat ...). Saya tak sampai hati nak tangkap dia (I don't care about the irresponsible owner who let loose such a cat!) PTS.

Then it infected a female cat semasa mengawan and she gave birth to a litter of cute little kittens. Sores appeared on her nose and eyelids, poor girl! The delay in destroying the affected male had caused a mother cat and her litter to be infected ... how sorrowful my heart felt! Immediately when the kittens could eat on their own, I PTS the mother cat. The kittens had not shown signs of sores yet, but later, one by one, the sores appeared! With great sorrow, I PTS the whole litter. To this day, my heart holds great sorrow in my delay in taking appropriate action on the male cat which subsequently died a horrible slow painful death and God knows he infected how many more males (through bite and fight wounds) and how many females during mating!

To this day, after so long, I still feel much sorrow and wish I could turn back time and do what I ought to have done when opportunity first presented itself to me.

MissBakawali, I am not saying that your cat has Sporotrichosis, I certainly hope not, but my strong advice is for you to get it confirmed fast and if yes, you need to PTS your cat and in the meantime, and as well as for some many months at least, do not introduce ANY new cat into your household or let your cat out of the house at all. Do not touch the wound with your naked hands, always use gloves and wash your hands well.

The first time i brought my cat for treatment, the vet said.. it was just a normal luka probably due to the fight and there's no infection noted during their checks..tak sangka jadi mcm ni.."it's ok they were just humans..humans tend to make mistake" (ayat penyedap hati) ..if it is true that my cat kene sporo ni i have to decide la to let her go..but not too soon... i will try my very best to help the cat as i noticed this morning luka kat yang kecik skit dah getting better.. ade jugak yg dah sembuh 100%..so there's HOPE! anyway thanks a lot for the infos shared..terima kasih tak terhingga~

Kalau Sporo, kawasan luka boleh sembuh sementara bila kita letak ubat tetapi luka akan terjadi kembali dan juga luka-luka akan timbul di tempat-tempat lain juga. Bila letak ubat kat luka-luka lain, boleh sembuh sementara juga tetapi akan berlaku kembali sebab fungus dah masuk ke dalam badan dan disebar merata-rata in the lymphatic system. Kalau jantan, you can even see tiba-tiba testes dia ada wound and that is very, very painful for the cat. Did you see any of your vets do a proper microscopic examination a swap sample to check the presence of the fungus and the use of the special lamp? Did he show it to you? Otherwise, you can assume that he did not do a proper analysis which will confirm to you on the spot whether or not your cat has the dreaded Sporotrichosis.

Yes, humans make mistake, but when a medical (other professional) expert makes such a mistake, it is termed professional negligence, and equates to professional incompetency. Lain lah kalau a lay person like you and me makes such a mistake because we are not professionally and academically trained, lain juga if your maid makes such a mistake ... but certainly not for a trained medical professional.

Simple, according to all available research, there is not treatment as to this day for a cat, only temporary relief of the wound site but it continues to spread through the body and ultimately the cat dies. In several researchs, where the humans applied medication to the wound site, wounds appeared on the fingers of the person applying the medication. The infected person was given oral medication (which the cat cannot take because of the toxicity to it) and recovered after a long time, but the cat ultimately got more serious and died.

Very, very few alert people and vets manage to catch and contain the fungus very, very early before it enters the body of the cat by carefully cleaning the fungus off the freshly inflicted new wound. This is very rare. And the cat's saliva has a very high concentration of the fungus (compared to other animals) because of its licking behaviour, so an infected cat can spread the fungus through its food and water bowl as well as when it grooms another cat or bites it.

I'm planning to bring my cat to vet tomorrow to do swap..actually the wound is getting worst and tak sampai hati nak upload the pix =( kalau betul she was infected with sporo my mom said it is better to put her sleep rather than let her suffer..muka my cat pun dah start sayu macam she knws that she'll be leaving me soon..sambil bersihkan luka sambil air mata meleleh..i just cant hold my tears..deep down inside I still hope it wasnt sporo..tapi andai kata dah ditakdirkan..I have to let her go =((

MissBakawali, saya ingin mencadang sesuatu yg saya sendiri tidak pernah mencuba tetapi as a last resort (what have we got to lose, kan?) ... saya pernah membaca beberapa kajian bahawa gamat kita ini ada some very, very good anti-fungal, healing and regenerative properties.

Saya nak cadang MissBakawali kasi kucing tu makan satu sudu teh Gamogen (Gamat) jenama Healin yg berkualiti tu. Gaulkan dengan sedikit daging dada rebus/kukus ayam. Kasi dua kali sehari, jangan lebih sebab produk tersebut ada tambahan beta-carotene yg kucing tak boleh makan lebih.

Tengok apa terjadi selepas sebulan, luka tu ada bertambah baik dan tiada luka baru timbul tak? Try, MissBakawali ....

Dear All..

The test has confirmed that it is sporo {msad}..further checking revealed that the virus has spread all over..and the worst part is according to the vet there's no hope since dah cronic sgt {mcry} I pun tak sampai hati dah tgk my cat suffered for too long..I terpaksa say YES when the vet suggest me to put her to sleep..dalam hati mmg tak rela..but you are right furrkid.. In life sometimes we are faced with very tough decisions that have to be carried out and we need to be strong enough to do it...the vet give me a few minutes to spend with my cat and i keep on apologise to my cat , I peluk dia..I nangis..I cium dia..(it was tough man) I bukan ada niat nak put her to sleep..I dah tak sampai hati..when the vet jab my cat.. I tak tengok..tak boleh and tak sanggup..On the way back nangis jgn ckp la..I tak peduli la kereta kat sebelah tgk I nangis pun..semua org ckp that's the best for her..she is in the better place now..Rasa sayu sgt bila teringat and tgk gambar my cat..macam rasa baru semalam dia lahir..membesar..she'll be missed! {cry}{mcry}{mcry}{mcry}{mcry}

Anyway thanks to all of you yang shared the info and give me support.. thanks sgt2...by the way nama kucing tu 'momok' sbb dulu die sgt gemuk dan comels...

I am soooooo sorry to hear the sad news, MissBakawali .....

.....Just like you, I cried too .... to the clinic as well as back ... mata tak nampak jalan while driving for all the tears ...... and many, many days after that .... many, many months after that .... even now.

I cuddled each one, whispering softly that I loved them, as the vets first administered the sedative to subdue them and then that fatal jab and one by one they lay motionless and I reached over and pulled their eyelids over their blank eyes .... peluk softly, lovingly and gently ... time stood absolutely still for a long, long time .....

They had been so very young, life had been so short and cruel .... poor mama, poor little kids .... God better have some good answers for this senselessness and unfairness ....... it hurts to this very day ......

They were plain strays that turned up for food and I fed and cared for them, loved them like my very own cats ... they were wonderful and affectionate, just asking for some food and some safe shelter, and the right to live alongside us humans ..... no evilness in their little hearts ....

bakawali.. Saya tahu bagaimana perasaan awak kerana terpaksa membuat keputusan tersebut. Membuat keputusan yg menyebabkan awak kehilangannya. Tetapi awak telah membuat yg terbaik untuk kucing tersebut dgn menjaganya dan merawatnya. Saya dan keluarga semua simpati atas kejadian yg menimpa. Banyak bersabar.. Itu sahaja yg boleh di nasihatkan. Memang nya berat mata memandang tetapi berat lagi bahu memikul..

Secara tidak sengaja saya terjumpa thread ni ketika mencari jawapan penyakit luka kucing saya yang masih tidak sembuh2. Sekarang dah masuk 2 bulan paha dia luka.
First kami figure out Bobo ada luka, kami bawa ke klinik gov. Diberitahu bahawa luka ni luka biasa akibat pergaduhan, kami pulang dengan dibekalkan oxigen peroxide dan ubat kuning sapu.Bobo juga di jab antibiotik.
Setelah sebulan luka nye masih tidak sembuh, tp Bobo masih cergas, saya membawanye ke private Vet di Kuantan. Luka Bobo di analisis menggunakan mikroskop dan Vet mengesahkan ini adalah Sporo, tetapi masih di peringkat awal. Kami dibekalkan antibiotik, ubat sabu krim antifungal dan juga ubat dalam kapsul yang saya da lupa nama apa -- juga antifungal. Bekalan ini untuk 10 hari.
Sekarang dah 10 hari tapi masih tidak menampakkan perubahan. Saya semalam call Vet bertanyakan tentang Sporo ini, katanya tidak semestinya kucing yang terkena sporo tiada chances untuk hidup, mereka masih berupaya untuk sembuh tetapi dalam jangkamasa yang panjang. Tambahan pula menurut beliau Sporo yang dialami oleh Bobo masih di peringkat awal dan memerlukan sebulan dua untuk pulih sepenuhnya. Menurunya lagi, Sporo Bobo masih belum menjangkiti organ dalamannya.
Apabila saya membaca thread ini, saya merasakan seolah-olah Vet tersebut cuba memberi saya harapan yang kosong. Saya berasa sedih. Kenapa beliau perlu mengatakan sedemikian sekiranya kucing yang terkena sporo mempunyai harapan yang tipis untuk hidup. Apekah Vet tersebut ingin memeras wang saya membayar ubat-ubatan Bobo tetapi lama-kelamaan Bobo akan tetap mati kerana Sporo ini.

Bobo sangat cergas, selera nye sungguh besar dan umpama tiada cacat dan celanye makhluk ini. Perlukah saya PTS Bobo, atau mengikut nasihat Vet ini?
Atau saya perlu cari Vet lain?
Lagi satu, inginkan kepastian, Sporo ini macam sakit AIDS yang tiada ubatnye ke?Yang mana jalan terbaik adalah PTS?
