Kalo kat Sabah, bas yang travel outstation tu memang ada wat service bawa binatang. Dulu I beli burung Sharma kat Sandakan (6 jam jauh dari KK). Kena beli tiket RM5.00 dan inform pet shop. Pet shop than akan pack burung tu dan bawa ke bas stesen. Dah tu dia akan sms number bus dan masa ketibaan bas tu ngan saya. Burung tu di letak dalam bas dan bukan dalam luggage area. Bila sampai KK saya jemput burung sharma saya kat stesen. Orang lain jemput orang tapi saya jemput burung {shy} {shy}

Cuba la risik risik ngan bas driver tu mana la tau dia tu jenis yang ok dan boleh tolong angkut kucing you tu.

Kalo tak... cuba la cari kawan kawan dalam forum nie yang akan balik kampung dan sudi menolong. Mana la tau ada yang sudi {grin} Just a suggestion. {victory}

Jauhnya u ambik kucing.. Perlis kat tmpt mana yg u nk ambik? I pun org perlis tp skrg stay kt kajang. I rasa bkn idea yg bagus u bg kucing tu naik bus. slalu klu naik bus ke perlis ambik masa at least 7jam (malam) or 10jam (siang). klu naik keta adalah dlm 7-8jam gak termsk brenti rest..klu flight, mmg x smp perlis. airport paling dkt pun kt kepala batas, jitra (kedah). then kn naik keta at least 30 minit lg bru smp kangar. kesian kt kucing tu..

Mati kena carbon monoxide dan panas nanti, tak mati pun jadi separuh mati, pastu sampai umah, mati penuh ....

Kalo letak dalam passenger area nanti mesti banyak tangan gatal-gatal nak pegi sentuh (bukan setakat sentuh!) mcm kucing-kucing atas skuter yg berhenti duakejap kat stesen minyak .......

Shah apasal nak ambik kucing dari jauh-jauh? KL tak ader kucing ker? SPCA kat Ampang dekat umah ko tu kan berlambak dengan kucing sampai kena bunuh-bunuh? Aiiii, kawan .... {wink}

Info pasal transportation tu. Bawa dgn lori tapi cage letak sblh driver. Tp kucing still trauma sikit utk hari pertama tu + tukar invironment. Pasal tak dpt tdo sgt kot sebab engine lori kan bising sikit dr kereta2 ni. Tp dah beransur ok. Mkn minum ok. Dah sapu2 cage baru dgn kain lapik tdo dia. Biar bau sama ngan tempat lama. Poo dia pun mintak sekali supaya senang nak toilet trainingkan kat mana bhgn kat dlm rumah. Pee pun dah sapukan sikit2 kat cage & bilik diorg. Biar dia tau tu territory dia (jantan). What else eh?

You can actually transport live animals such as dogs and cats on MAS within Peninsula Malaysia without any problems unless its a different state. While Malaysia Airlines does not require a health certificate for your animal, many Countries do require health documents. As it is the passenger's responsibility to be aware of all regulations, you should consult your veterinarian and the Department of Agriculture to ensure that your animal will comply with all requirements.

If transporting animals from West Malaysia to East Malaysia and vice versa you will need to apply for Import and Export permits from Jabatan Haiwan of the respective state. Once obtained the necessary documentations, you will need to send your cat or dog to the Jabatan Haiwan for a full medical check up. Before that your dog and cat must be fully vacinated and have all the relevant medical record. Once Jabatan Haiwan has fully checked your pets then a Health Certificate will be issued. This Health Certificate will only last 48 hours from the date of issuance therefore you must make sure that travel plans are made. If by Cargo you will need to employ an agent to do the clearance for you. If by hand carry, you will just need to purchase a ticket for you and your pet. Fees are similar to Execess Baggaege fees and based on weight. Contact Malaysia Airlines for more information.

Bear in mind new regulations for transporting pets from West to East you will need to micro chip and get the rabies vacination for your pet.

In addition to the size and weight maximums, the IATA and Malaysia Airlines require that kennels meet the following requirements:

Be leak-proof and escape-proof.
Be properly ventilated, but not allow any part of the animal from protruding outside of the container.
Provide enough room for the animal to stand and turn around.
Be made of metal, wood, or a hard plastic/composite.
Contain absorbent material or litter.
Have functional handles on the kennel's exterior to prevent tilting and any direct contact with the animals.
Be closed securely, but not locked.
Have labels with the words "Live Animal" in letters at least 1-inch tall on the crate's top and on at least one side.
Have upright arrow labels indicating kennel's correct position.

{victory}Yeah.. thank you to k. nurul {muacks} for letting me know that this was possible..

Just to add in a bit, the health cert + export permit is valid for a 7-day period, as I was recently told. In my case, I'm traveling together with the cats, so am not sure if it makes any difference with regards to the validity period of the permit.

I'm so looking forward to get them across safely, but I'm so so not looking forward for the quarantine :(

Hi Fazilah,
Macam Nurul aka 'Felix the cat' berkata sebelum ni.. refer ke bawah nie dik...for short naik MAS ba...
Pets di kira as checked in baggage. But you have to pay only if the checked in baggage is more than 10 kg.

Documents to prepare:
1. Import/Export Permit
2. Sijil Kesihatan
3. Health Card

Vaccination: anti-rabies dan Feline Panleukopenia (Feline Distemper)
Kuarantin: 21 days (if you apply early) - 1 month (charges: rm4 per day))

Tips: Microchip your kitty lebih senang.
