Watch out in the drains!

When i was walking back from school (ALONE) when i nearly reached my house i heard a meow comming from the right side of me when i looked at the grass there were nothing,so i looked in the drain there was 1 poor little kitten at the drain and it fell in to the cold dirty drain water so i took a leaf and carry it by its fur so i carried it till i reached home, and it also accidently fall in the drain.I careless-ly waited for some 1 to find a shelter for it i waited and waited finnaly a family came it was a small little malay girl with her brother and her mother the her brother asked her mother mommy can i keep the kitten then her mother said sure just make sure you take care of it,after that i went back in my house i waited for its mother to call for it but then the mother wasent finding for it.The End.MORAL of the story, look out in the drains there might be a life to save

Good job, Josiah!

Even at a young age of 12, you have shown remarkable kindness to animals by helping us at our event, and the ability to make a difference to the lives around you. You have certainly given a second lease of life to this kitten that might otherwise have drowned or starved to death.

You might want to read up on how to treat and handle newborn kittens and puppies. Sometimes you might not be able to immediately find a family that can take it, so it would involve a short period of time fostering it or nursing it back to health, while finding a permanent home for it through your friends and PetFinder.my

Keep up the good work!

Josiah,

If you are worried about diseases (and it is also a good practice), you can bring the rescued animal to a vet for an immediate check up first, or even board it there for a couple days. You can also keep the dog/cat isolated in a separate cage so it does not get directly in contact with your own dogs.

When you find a suitable adopter, it is fine for you to charge them an adoption fee to cover the medical expenses. A sincere and genuine adopter would not mind reimbursing you for such costs.

So smart and compassionate and only 12 years old! You could teach many adults a few lessons.

Your family must be very proud of you. I know the PF community is.

Keep up the good work!
