Who already have? Dog Book Marley and Me

Hi,
DO you have?
"Dog lovers will devour this hilarious, heartwarming story of a family and a family pet." —San Antonio Express-News
http://i33.servimg.com/u/f33/12/13/48/74/home_b10.jpg
The heartwarming and unforgettable story of a family in the making and the wondrously neurotic dog who taught them what really matters in life.

John and Jenny were just beginning their life together. They were young and in love, with a perfect little house and not a care in the world. Then they brought home Marley, a wiggly yellow furball of a puppy. Life would never be the same.

Marley quickly grew into a barreling, 97-pound streamroller of a Labrador Retriever, a dog like no other. He crashed through screen doors, gouged into drywall, flung drool on guests, stole women’s undergarments, and ate nearly everything he could get his mouth around, including couches and fine jewelry. Obedience school did no good —Marley was expelled. Neither did the tranquilizers the veterinarian prescribed for him with the admonishment, “Don’t hesitate to use these.”

And yet, his heart was pure. Just as Marley joyfully refused any limits on his behavior, his love and loyalty were boundless, too. He shared the couple’s joy at first pregnancy, and their heartbreak over miscarriage. He was there when babies finally arrived and when the screams of a 17-year-old stabbing victim pierced the night. Marley shut down a public beach and managed to land a role in a feature-length movie, always winning hearts as he made a mess of things. Through it all, he remained steadfast, a model of devotion, even when his family was at wit’s end. Unconditional love, they would learn, comes in many forms.

Is it possible for humans to discover the key to happiness through a bigger-than-life, bad-boy dog? Just ask the Grogans.

Praise for Marley & Me

he is so cute and adorable... {happy}

i really like the way the author express him... :)

Aiyoh, you know, early this year at Borders they were actually selling this book (but very short time period only) ... buy 2 get 3rd book free, so my friends and me all chose 2 of the same book and took the 3 one (also Marley book) free and distributed to friends ... heheheehehhh!! next day the book no more oredi! {happy}

You know, another book good to read to finish that tissue box ... the free book Pawprints on my heart (they got one version called "A Buddhist Perspective" and another version for non-buddhists. Very, very touching, I especially like the chapter on Crow In the Drain. {good}

Re: Who already have? Dog Book Marley and Me

i finally finished the book till 1am..

goodness...... i cried...and my eyes are all swollen now {cry}

suddenly i felt i misses him too...and not just john...
goodness..the part of bidding farewell...... if im that position... i sure have a heavy heart..........

i like the last part when john commented "a dog judges others not by their color or creed or class but by who they are inside. A dog doesnt care if you are rich or poor, educated or illiterate, clever or dull. Give him your heart and he will give you his.It was quite simple, and yet we humans, so much wiser and more sophisticated have always had trouble figuring out what really counts and what does not."

hehehe, i like your suggestions lynie

let's go as a group to get some discounts on tickets and concession stand items but before that, let's throng carrefour and tesco for loads of boxes of tissues paper. doubt the cinema operators are providing free tissue papers for the errant tear. {shy}

Re: Who already have? Dog Book Marley and Me

I've read this book and must say it is 1 of the wonderful books I've read. The book truly pays tribute to owners with worst-behaved dogs but still can find the joy in their pet's companionship despite their shortcomings.

It makes my Bryl look pretty good compared to Marley. I spent many occasions laughing to myself reading this book trying to imagine the comical situation Marley gets himself into...

Definitely an enjoyable read! from my friend Donna.
