Think puppy mills don't exist in Malaysia?

Think again.

Malaysia Independent Animal Rescue, a group based in Klang, has just rescued this group of Pekingese from a local puppy mill. Please take the time to look at these photos, which Puspa Rani posted on the group's Facebook page.

I would ask every person who claims to love dogs to think about a few things:

When you buy a cute pedigreed puppy from a pet shop, you are supporting this sort of horror show. This is where your puppy came from, and your cute little puppy's parents are either still living in a hell like this, or they've been dumped somewhere when they're unable to bear any more litters.

When you give away an intact (unneutered) pedigreed dog, you risk it ending up in a place like this. The people who run these puppy mills don't necessarily look like monsters. They may well tell you that they want your dog as a family pet. They are not so stupid as to tell you it's going to spend the rest of its life in a pit like these Pekingese. If you sincerely care about the dog you're putting up for adoption, spay or neuter it first!

Puppy mills persist because there is profit in it. If there is no demand, there is no market. PLEASE, DON'T BREED OR BUY.
