Unethical Pet Shop
 

Went to a pet shop in Bandar Permaisuri yesterday to see a cat. Was showed into the Boarding section. Was shocked to see that sickly kittens having fungal was allowed to be in the same room as healthy cats and kittens {ohmygod} Knowing that fungal is airborne how could the petshop owner allow this even though the kitten is on medication already? {oh}

Although the environment was clean but most the of the kittens were having bad eye discharge and not cleaned {ohmygod}

Better not send your cats or kittens for boarding there. {sick}

I got 2 I wanna highlight here.. Pinjam thread kak Felix..

1. Prangin mall new pet shop
- the location is kinda stupid. very near ..around 200m from gaming area.. very very very very bising ..but then they do not sell any good brands.. they just sell Frieskies, Whiskes, Pedigree for doggs and Purina stuff. The thing is there build cages and teh cages masih tak siap ( sekarang I tak tahulah) tapi the day I went there ada 2 ekor DLH dalam cage kecik.. berak, kencing tak da litter tray. berak dan duduk atas tahi sendiri. very very very small cage plus bising .. I tegur the seller but they just remain silent. I am planning to go there at the end of the week. Kalau ada lagi, means I have to do something with the 2 DLH..

2. T**Y pet shop, are air itam
-very very very dirty..and small cages plus undeveloped hind legs of a dog clearly tak pernah diberi chance berlari.. sad sight..

kedai2 macam nieh.. least I could do by trying not to support business diorang.. hhuhuhu

{scared}{scared} maybe keadaan macam ni lah yg sy dah hadapi.. masa 2 sy hantar kucing bording dalam seminggu sebab nak balik kampung.. then lepas seminggu 2.. masa gi ambil sy nampak cat sy dah lain macam.. balik umah baru sy perasan my cat dah kena jangkitan fugus yg agak banyak kat bahagianbawah perut.. huhu.. sejak 2 dah serik nak antarbording...{cry}

I think i go to the same shop.. the shop smell like a pee and they using old newspaper in a litter box~ Kesian...

I think I know this "hardly you can call a shop space" at Level 4 Prangin Mall. Nothing great to buy from there. I heard that they might be closing down their Jalan Burma shop (next to Young Ones) and move to Prangin Mall permanently. As what you had mentioned, I think it's a bad idea.

Actually they were using litter box and the place was quite clean. Just that I don't think its wise to mix unhealthy cats especially cats with fungal which can be easily transferred to another cat as fungal is airborne. All the kittens were beautiful but unfortunately looked sickly. {sick}

kak Felix, I think most of the pet shops they do not bother that much.. tak sebelek kita nieh tho memang kita tahu kalau banyak kucing akan adalah pet shop yang mengelat dan ignore few things. Even sampai sekarang, I tak jumpa lagi pet shop yang jual or ambil boarding kucing yang betul2 bersih.. kopak telinga sikit jer.. da nampak da penuh dalam telinga tueh..huhuhu

I did talked with the salesgirl before.. i tegur jugak about the cats.. very small cages with loud noises and flea plus ear mites plus very thin.. she just diam saja.. I think they are going to close down the one beside young ones due to high competition with CTY aquarium.. But then, what's the point selling pet food that we can find easily even at TESCo/JuSCO or even comman supermarket. I just do not understand their marketing strategy... Even so, I saw then nicely cut out the bar code at teh back of the packages of the dog food and took out a bit of every packaging.. and they repack that.. Sounds dirty huh.. {ohmygod}

sbnarnyer kebanyakan petshop memang macam ni... bila dah banyak kucing kat dalam kedai tu mulalah xterurus... pasal boarding tu selalunya dorang pentingkan duit, bukan dia kisah pn kucing tu ade fungus ke ape (sy pernah kene, name petshop dirahsiakan.. hehe) kalau rase xmmpu nk uruskn kucing yg banyak kt petshop tu upahlah pekerja ramai sikit yg mana boleh uruskan bab kencing berak kucing ni, klu xmmpu nak gaji kan pekerja xyah jual haiwan, jual je acc or keperluan binatang peliharaan... tp nk buat camne, its all about d money3....

Yes, I definitely agree with you Nash. Its all about the $$$$$$$
The more the better.
I am running a home boarding and I rather have the cats in my care clean and comfortable rather than have them squeezed in tight cages and then have no time to take care of them.
Unfortunately nowadays people just want to make a quick buck rather than stress on the importance of the comfort of the animals that we are looking after.

Sy pernah pergi kot kalau petshop tu start dgn huruf S tu. Kebersihan bhgn depan tu agak ok la. Tp ada cage yg letak kucing2 yg agak pack {scared}. Bkn sampai tak ada space tp boleh kata agak kurang sesuai la. Adults + kittens sekali. Tp sy tak tgk la bhgn blkg kedai. Ada la bau tu sikit. Harap tak la teruk sgt {sick}

rasanya saya tau kat mane,sebb kat bandar permaisuri tu,dah mmg takde petshop lain dah melainkan yang satu...tapi kat situ kucing dia mmg mahal2....

Klau kat BS P'maisuri tu , i rasa i tau la... ada gi skali and pengalamannya kurang elok laa...

Sblum gi tu i call 'S----e petshop' ni coz minat ngan 1 baka cat ni & petshop ni mmg specialist dlm baka tu pon. I call utk bincang harga, cuba2 tanya harga bawah RM1k bole dpt ke & owner sendiri jwb, 'dtg je dulu harga bole bincang, takde hal punya' katanya.

So 2,3 hari pastu i gi la, ada 2,3 staff (tak sure termasuk owner tak) tp 1 pon tak layan i...customer masa tu ada 2 family je... Bila tanya pasal cat baka tu, staff jwb: fully book! kat blakang ada 2 Queen tgh pregnant, tu pon fully book!!

Bole percaya ke??? Masa call takde plak ckp fully book, siap suruh dtg tengok lg ada la tapi bila dtg camni jadinya. Agaknya dia tgok i mcm tak mampu je, so diorg malas nak layan kot...

Kesimpulannya, layanan kedai ni pon kurang memuaskan n paling ketara Owner punya ckp takleh pakai....

Perkara ni berlaku awal tahun la.. tp malas nak citer.. tetiba keluar plak citer petshop ni.

Eh kalo kedai S, tu betul laa.... mase i dtg diorg guna shread paper je kat litter box!! Pluss Suger glider dia pown bubuh dalam aquarium kecik je.. padat plak tu. sian tgk SG tu menjerit2 trauma.

I just lost my lil sis, hunybuny, 2 weeks ago :( when I tried searching for a new kitten dkt PF, ternampak satu for sale, and it looks exactly 1001% like my dear sis, cume colour lain. malam tu jugak paksa my mom hantar pegi that pet shop because I texted them and they said 'datang dulu kat sini, byk kucing sini'. fine.

pergi sana, terkejut sbb ada kucing tu mata die penuh kotoran merah2. pastu tanya la the staffs, die cakap 'oh esok baik la mata die tu'. boleh takkk? {cry} sangkar kecik diletak ramai2 kucinng. then ade one family request nk tengok kucing, boleh tak die grab kitten tu sebelah tangan je, sambar. even mungkin kitten tu tak sakit, but still arghhh poor kitties :(

then bila tanye ada kucing lg tak, die cakap yg ade kat display je. pastu cakap dgn nada malas ke riak ke campur sume, mcm dia sorg ada kucing mahal. tak kira la mahal ke apa, tapi hormat la. org lain pun ada experience jaga kucing.

tolong la, org dah la full of hope, suruh datang, tetibe mcm tu pulak. pegi skali mmg xnak dtg lagi {ohmygod}

There's this one petshop (more of fishshop) in Seri Kembangan area.. Not sure the name of d kedai... d area is more to pinggiran putra/putra permai area.. There's a row of shops, near a futsal area, and it's opposite jusco equine. sape2 yg duduk area seri kembangan/equine/pinggiran putra mesti tau kedai nie.. it's 1row dgn kedai makan2 papajoo n etc.. sederet dgn tempat futsal baru..


Just d other day i went there (cos every wednesday got pasar malam), so mmg akan nampak la dis kedai. bila tgk dekat2 i WAS SO SURPRISED!!! I think it's a fish shop, but outside d kedai they put cages, and a few poor cats are put for sale.


Seriously d cats condition teruk sgt.. kurus,skin infection,crusty2,n all of them looks sad. colour bulu pun mcm xsihat, like dull perang2 colour..(i wonder cats bulu can get discoloration?) D food pulak pakai plastic kecik je.. n then water kotor x tukar.. even small kittens looks very sickly, kurap2 and not taken care of.. d cages x cover bawah dia.. their litter boxes pulak soo small..!! kesian la... When i ask d worker there, "nape kucing2 ni camnie? xjaga ke..ni sakit2, skin infection ni nape..?".. u guys know wat he answered me? "u beli la kucing2 ni kasi bawak balik kasi jaga dorang betut2.." kurang hasam tol ar... ade ke pulak..


so geram maybe dis weekend or next week i'll take some pics to show to u guys... mmg rasa nak nangis tgk their condition...

i know that shop..

i pernah pergi kedai tu 3 month ago..
ada satu cage 2 tier.. ada 3 ekor kucing, 2 adult and 1 kitten..
yg adult tu cantik macam ala2 Maine Coon.. tp boleh nampak ada kurap kt telinga..
1 kitten warna putih.. i think around 2 month or less..
muka comot sangat.. sangat kesian..
masa i pergi tu, tak ada food bowl langsung, tak ade litter bos pon..
i tanya berapa harga kitten tu, dia cakap rm300(he reply after a looonnnggg errrmmmmmm)
rm300 for that poor kitty??? i tak sampai hati tgk kitten tu..
tapi tak nak support BYB macam tu..

betul kan condition kucing2 sane teruk kan? mase i gi last wednesday ada 1 big cage, and a few smaller cages. mmg condition dorang menyedihkan.. If only malaysia have Animal Police kan bagos..tangkap n saman kedai tu...

i pun pernah g jugak kedai ni...i masuk sorang pun tak layan,mugkin i dtg tak mcm org berduit kot...kucing ada tapi xde sekor yg mesra pelanggan,semua duk moyok je. Kat belakang ada 2 ekor kucing dlm cage harge bkn main mahal tapi tertulis di cage ' SOLD '....tp x beberape sihat dgn sakit mata....
tuan dia I pernah tgk n jmpe borak pun pernah.....sebab tuan ni ada kolam mancing,i pernah g memancing di kolam dia...anyway duit punye pasal semua boleh bertukar kan......!
