My personal views and experience on animal rescue

hello all animal lovers...am new here and would like to share something.
i have rescued many dogs and cats before and have plenty of bittersweet experiences.i know that rescuing these poor creatures is a noble thing but i wonder why some people like to pretend to be something they are not.let me explain......i was involved in the rescue of a lost dog a few days ago with a friend but the so called animal lover/rescuer promptly send him to my place and pretended that it is completely my responsibility although we agreed to share the burden.i have always loved and cared for animals and am now fostering the dog.feel very hurt and seriously feel that people should not do things on an impulse to feel good about themselves only to dump their responsibilities on others.everything we do in life....whether it is good or bad,has consequences and we just have to face them no matter how inconvenient it is going to be.i have no regrets taking in the dog....and i truly want to find him a good home.but someone out there might think she 'saved' a lost dog......but in reality she lost a good friend.would like to hear comments from other animal lovers/rescuers.

Welcome to petfinder.my Babedarling. I still remember one rescued told me, her friend question her why work so hard for those homeless animal! the woman said the poor cat and dog need our help and I just did what I can. They so pity. That's simple.

@babedarling,
Welcome. Most important is how you feel. My daughter started with rescuing 1 kitten and now we had rescued and fostering 14 cats + 1 dog. But end of the day, the joy they give us is priceless and we never have a bore day. That dog you saved can enhance your life.
