Puppy trembling/shaking while sleeping... Normal?
Just adopted a 7 week old terrier mix puppy from petfinders 5 days ago...
Every time when she lies down just for a few seconds, to sleep or rest, her whole body shakes and she breathes rather quickly and her nose is quite dry but when i wake her up shes quite fine...playful and manja... Shes been eating well, will eat anythinglah...feeding her mix of royal canin puppy medium breed and hills science at the moment on dry kibble. Doesnt drink much water though.. Poop solid. Is this behaviour normal? Puppy dreams? Thx in advance... |

Re: Puppy trembling/shaking while sleeping... Normal?
hi bryan,
i think your pup's just dreaming.. my dogs even bark and whine in their sleep sometimes.. they also do the trembling thing.. its their version of REM sleep i believe. if you're worried, you can ask a vet? or perhaps google it.. |
Re: Puppy trembling/shaking while sleeping... Normal?
Thx lynie...
But what is odd about her is that she does it even though just after a few seconds of lying down... Surely REM sleep cant be that quick? |
Re: Puppy trembling/shaking while sleeping... Normal?
My dog trembles too when she is fully asleep. I think it is normal. Even for a short nap will tremble. When I see her trembling, i know she is in deep sleep. sumtimes ears will move, Sumtimes legs will kick too while sleeping. hahaha.
