Neuter and Spaying Kitten/Cats?
 

I'm 15 this year,a Malay/Muslim girl and decided to have a kitten this month.Also,I decided to neuted/spayed it as soon as I get it.

The main problem is the vet is a Malay(A Muslim of course) and how to translate the word "neutered" in Bahasa Melayu?And,what is the suitable age for my "future" kitten to get neutered either a male or a female?

Any advise to people who have experience?

Neuter can be translate as kembiri or kasi.Suitable age for female kitten to be neuter is at the age of 5 mths old and male 6 or 7 mths old. Though female kitten can get on heat as young as 3 mths old. Advisable age is 5 mths for female and 6-7 mths for male.

kadang2 bila aku tak ingat mana yg patot sebot..aku type speuter jek..hahahah pandai2 la korang pikir kucing aku male ke female..hikhikhik

err any certified vet would know the term neuter in BM..be it muslim or nonmuslim..nama lagik vet kan...

Noor, ikut pengalaman akak.. bila ckp sunat, ada yg beranggapan mcm kes sunat orang.. payah la pulak akak nak explain.. bila akak cakap kasi.. depa ingat akak kasi/bagi kucing tu kat orang! adehh!.. {ohmygod}

Tadi baru je akak ckp kat supplier, last 2 weeks akak dah start kasi kucing.. dia bleh tanya, " Eh akak kasi kucing kat sapaa??{ohmygod} Saya nak akak tak bagi! "

first, welcome to the forum, zurrah.

noor, neuter is takde gender. for example, in general english, any inanimate object is neuter, meaning, bukan female, bukan male.

and for cats, neuter is for both males and females. kalau nak potong the male, it's called castrate. kalau nak cut up the female, it's called spay. {victory} but maybe we are all not using it that way.

It all depends whether you are using American or British English actually where "neuter" is for male and "spay" is for female and "castrate" is for both sexes while some use "neuter" or even "de-sex" for both sexes.

Blackie, akak pernah mention neuter and zass.. to a local security guard (not immigrants).. but the guy just look at me with blurry face.. akak tak tau whether dia ni paham ke tidak..

And then, it came in my mind that he might dont understand 'english' so i showed him sign language.. tunjuk tanda balls and then tanda menggunting with my fingers.. (like a zass) he frown and shake his head.. suddenly he cover his private part with his hand dan pergi.. not a word come out.. I dont know whether i gave a correct signs.. atau dia misunderstood?{sick}
