Hi Stephanie,

Welcome to Petfinder. I'm sorry I can't help, as my experience is in cats rather than dogs. But I'm sure someone else here can help.

FINALLY A TALK ABOUT DOGS! MUAHAHAAHA MOVE OUTTA THE WAY!! Chelly is here and all you cat lovers have reign too long!

i've once looked into this and read a lot, some say females are more distant, some say males are more distant, vice versa on other traits such as trainability, each article contradicts the previous one. go ahead and google, and verify this yourself with tons of articles.

so in the end it always come back to the nature of the dog itself regardless on gender..

no difference except the physiology.. just your natural preference should do.

what i read is that female dog dont even shed a single blood once neutered so no worries on the cycle stuff.. but i prefer male dogs.. dont know why..

WELCOME STEPHANIE! LONG LIVE DOG LOVERRSSS!!!

Re: meeting new friends

have you ever had dogs before? if your dogs have ticks, go straight to the vet for a shot that will kill the ticks.. or use that eyedrops kinda thing on the scruffs.. can buy in petshops.

only taking ticks out, bathing with ticks shampoo, powdering, does not work.. the last one is good for prevention only. do check their body and paws after walks if you want to be careful.. these ticks live on grass, doesnt necesarily transfer from other dogs.

once u got dog with ticks in the house, be FAST, they WILL spread around bedding, clothes, carpet, everywhere.. so BOIL THEM, disinfect or whatever! KILL EM! thats from my experience..

EXCITED WITH FELLOW DOG LOVERS!
