Yes, Asmaradonut, there are MANY things that breeders do, but it still does not necessary mean that what they do is right and safe. Breeders are business-driven mostly, and many bad things have been breeded into the animals for profit ... looks/appearance over health for profits and human gain. Read the book "Animals In Translation". At least for dogs, some breeds have been banned because they have produced such unhealthy freaks which suffer poor health for the rest of their lives. The Persian flat-face continue to suffer for human vainity. The poor, poor cats! Just look at their poor ever-wet eyes, listen to the way they breathe!
