Oops, I don't use any solution, but instead, use cotton buds only.
But Blackie seems to enjoy it, and it's the only grooming session where he'll sit on my lap quietly and let me clean his ears. For other grooming activities like fur combing, nail clipping, taking a bath, etc., he's like a monyet kena belacan and I'd have to hold him down with one hand.
