Smile On the first day of Raya, my true love gave to me...

On the first day of Raya in the early morning when I was about to leave, this cat (I believe belonged to my neighbour 2 doors away who was away for more than a week) squatted on the road outside my neighbour's house. Huddled tightly, he peered at me with his eyes slightly opened with such misery that I instantly went back into the house and gave him a Raya treat – a big handful of cat kibbles. He gobbled up quick.

Our friend must be grateful because when I came back in the afternoon, I found him sleeping at my porch among the flower pots. Though I told him to go home and prodded his skinny rump, he refused to budge.

Then I had a brilliant idea now that the so-called owners were not around. I quickly filled up a pail of warm water, gathered some old towels, prepared a container of diluted shampoo with de-flea properties. Our friend did not protest when I carried him and proceeded to lather him in the porch. Yes, he did meow a bit, softly but not the kind of howling meows my cats sometimes gave as though being tortured.

It was much easier bathing him than bathing my cats. This cat is thin and light in comparison to my cats which at times I have to struggle getting up carrying my drenched cats.

Here are pictures of that cat basking in the sun outside my house licking himself.

I am not sure how to make those pictures bigger.
