Wawa, yes, dettol kills germs but not pets, I used dettol to mop for few years already and started to use dettol disinfectant sprays for few months already, no side effects from my cats at all. (again, not agent for dettol)

Like June said, yes, it's up to you, I am just suggesting because I am satisfied with the results of my clean environment.
