I'm new here..been browsing around the forum for quite sometimes, but today decided to register as need your advise if anyone had experienced something similar.

I have 2 kittens, Zyko and Darling. They were siblings, a crossbreed between American Curl and Persian, as per what been claimed by previous owner. When we first had the two fellas, everything seems normal and okay. There's no issues, they adapted well to the new home, been eating right and playful like nobody's business.

After sometimes, i noticed something. Darling started to be a bit passive, and not as playful as before, and worst part was she started to bump into things. My wife also noticed the same thing. I've tried few methods to check if her vision got any issues. When i dimmed a light source onto her eyes, her pupil in fact reacts to the light, but in really slow / delay manner. I've tried to act as if I'm poking her eyes, and she did not react at all to my movement. She will just get startled if i call her name, and the way she walks around the house is like she depended more on her other senses, like sniffing around and alert to sound.

Feared the worst, I've sent her for checkup with vet, but not much info provided. Those 2 supposed to get their first vaccine, but Darling was KIV'ed as vet suspected that she could be infected with FIP. They only provided the medication for her nerve system, to isolate the issue if it's somewhat related to that. I did my research through Mr. Google, and very less info that i could find, and if there's any, it's like a general symptom that couldn't pinpoint exactly on the issue. I'm helpless right now. I wanted the best for my Darling, and of course i would like to try whatever method possible if we can save her eyes from gradually getting blind. Please, if anyone had any experience/ ideas, please share with me here. Really hoping to get some feedback on this. Thanks a bunch.

What i experienced back then was due to poison. i had a 8 months old cat back then with a habit of licking rusted aluminium roof,soap and detergent. i realized he had such a bad habit when he started to stop being active and yes..bumped into things. When i checked, one eyed was discoloured. Took him the vet and after 3 days he was active and healthy yet bad habits died hard. He was a worst addict that i could imagine and he continued licking all the rusty metals ( i dun understand why as well).. the eye got worst.. lost the skill of jumping..dragged back feet around the house. Nerve system was obviously giving up. I brought him to the vet and vet said the nerve system gone
haywired and vet perscribed human meds for nerve problem that i need to personally buy from human pharmacy..in which the vet said its only what i could try on..to get the nerve back as usual was low of chances and only if he stopped the bad habit. i took him to the vet for 5 conservative days and he left home one day..

truthfully .. i went around 3 vets asking for more opinions.. sudden blindness isexactly what you should worry. Bring the cat for second or maybe third opinion.. then work from there. Mr google is no replacement for highly trained experienced vets.
