Default My cats have been messing up my neighbor's house

I have a usual peeing and pooing area for my cats outside my cemented porch area (which I'll clean up very consistently daily) as well as litter boxes scattered everywhere but somehow my cats love to jump over my neighbor's house to pee and poo on their tiled porch/Crocs shoes/rubberized mats, etc. I'm afraid it would become too habitual and would create tensions between neighbors. Is there any solution out there to rectify this problem?

I thought of netting up the fencing but it would look horrible. Moreover, cats have their own ways to avoid barriers. I also heard about certain plant that would emit certain smell that cats dislike. So far I have not come across anyone in Malaysia knowing about its existence.

I would appreciate any feedback fast as my neighbor is a bit worried about my visiting cats affecting his two small child's health.

I don't know about any plants, but cats generally don't like spice or pepper, so one way could be to sprinkle those around the perimeter. But then, the rain might wash them away.

Another alternative might be to line a sticky tape, not cellophane tape (double-sided, of course) around the perimeter where the cat is likely to walk on to get to your neighbours' house. Cats don't like the stickiness of those tape and might avoid the area.

If you like, you could also provide your neighbour with a water spray bottle, and ask them to spray your cats with water whenever they enter their porch. After a few sprays, I think your cats will learn to stay within your own porch. This is better than if your neighbour starts to get seriously upset with your cats and start throwing stones or other things at your cats.

Or, as you mentioned, you could also put some barriers, be it netting or whatever, to prevent easy access to next door.

Good luck!
