On the first day of Raya, my true love gave to me...
On the first day of Raya in the early morning when I was about to leave, this cat (I believe belonged to my neighbour 2 doors away who was away for more than a week) squatted on the road outside my neighbour's house. Huddled tightly, he peered at me with his eyes slightly opened with such misery that I instantly went back into the house and gave him a Raya treat – a big handful of cat kibbles. He gobbled up quick.
Our friend must be grateful because when I came back in the afternoon, I found him sleeping at my porch among the flower pots. Though I told him to go home and prodded his skinny rump, he refused to budge.
Then I had a brilliant idea now that the so-called owners were not around. I quickly filled up a pail of warm water, gathered some old towels, prepared a container of diluted shampoo with de-flea properties. Our friend did not protest when I carried him and proceeded to lather him in the porch. Yes, he did meow a bit, softly but not the kind of howling meows my cats sometimes gave as though being tortured.
It was much easier bathing him than bathing my cats. This cat is thin and light in comparison to my cats which at times I have to struggle getting up carrying my drenched cats.
Here are pictures of that cat basking in the sun outside my house licking himself.
I am not sure how to make those pictures bigger.

His face is so sweet and beautiful. You mean his owners just left for holidays and leave him outdoors to fend for himself? Poor cat.
He's lucky you live nearby and could take care of him.
Some owners are like that, really irresponsible. In my former place, once, during Raya, I saw a very young kitten on our stairs (it's a walk-up apartment). It's about 2 or 3 months old. I knew it has to belong to one of the residents on the block as there's an electronic accesss door on the stairs which the kitten couldn't have come through. Anyway, I put an empty box with towels for it as its bedding and gave it food and water for about 3 days. Then, one morning, it just disappeared, and didn't come back for food or water anymore....I guess the owner returned home.

Aiyo Bond, this chap used to give me hell when my backyard was covered with ‘pasar malam’ plastic sheet. He walked all over the sheet thus agitating my cats. He urinated as well. When the urine dried, I wished for rain. I had to constantly wash the backyard as the urine seeped through the plastic. In addition he gave my cats ticks, fleas and lice. My cats were clean and had never left home except to their vet.
I solved these problems a few months ago. I got a contractor to build a permanent roof over the backyard and have been applying ‘spot on’ to my cats on a regular basis to rid those vermin.
But the chickens (belonged to the same owner) still walk the roof and go ‘clackety clack’. My cats will look all over and then at me with eyes wide opened. Well, at least now chicken shit don’t come through.
Mmm, shall I catapult those chicken with ripe local cherry berries? Where can I get a catapult? Anyone?
And thank you BabyZee for making those photos bigger. How on earth did you do it? I don't seem to be able to.

Hmm, you probably are right! Maybe I should not catapult those chicken with ripe cherries. Local ripe cherries are red, small, soft and sweet with countless seeds inside . Those chicken may like it so much and decide to follow me home .
Errr, I don't eat chicken. They eat worms .

Re: On the first day of Raya, my true love gave to me...
haha, cookie, catapulting the chickens is animal abuse ler....
yeah, i don't eat chickens either, even though i'm not a vegetarian. they look so cute, especially when they turn their head sideways to look at something (due to their eyes being on the side instead of front).
to enlarge the photos is easy....just follow these steps.
1) after u have uploaded your pics and have typed your message, click on the "Preview Post" button below the compose message box.
2) Then, click on the picture in the thumbnail. Another window will open up with the picture in it.
3) Hover your mouse over the picture, right-hand click on the mouse. A drop down menu will appear. Click on "save image url", or "save image location", depending on what browser u r using.
4) Then, return to the post, and in the compose message box, click on where u would like the picture to appear. THEN......
5) Go to the top of the compose message box, click on the INSERT IMAGE icon, and paste the URL u had saved in step 3.
REMEMBER to remove the extra "http://" in the INSERT IMAGE location box, because when u save that URL in step 3, it already came with "http://".
If u don't remove the extra one, it will negate the URL.
Hope this helps.
