Masa pegi pet shop yang saya selalu pegi tu, diaorang pun cakap benda yang sama. Tapi kan pendapat saya, mungkin bukan dah tukar pada Sportman's Pride, mungkin dah tak jual lagi. Distributor try brand lain pulak. Sebab kat website inernational masih ada lagi Proformance ni. Siap pakaging baru lagi...

Marketing mereka memang buat claim gitu tapi bila saya kajiselidik penemuan saya adalah bahawa Proformance sebenarnya tidak setanding, sebab tu lah harganya lebih murah bila buat perbandingan.

Proformance contains the cheaper grains used as filler tapi Innova is grains-free. Similarly so is Orijen.

Kalau IAMS tu boleh lah kata setanding sikit, but IAMS kat overseas is not considered premium food. Proformance is better than Whiskies/Frieskies dan kibbles murah lain-lain yg berkaler-kaler dan jenama pun tak tahu haper tu, boleh kata benar.

Somewhere on the internet ada terdapat guidelines bahawa for cat food, generally the more expensive is better because of the ingredients in the kibble and because cats are ultimate carnivores (meat eaters) and good quality meat in cat food is very expensive. Sebab tu la cat food murah taroh tulang dan bulu hancur as well as other animal byproducts (bukan daging) supaya dapat menemui keperluan peratusan "protein" dalam penujian produk mereka, but this type of cheap food akan menimbulkan banyak masalah kesihatan utk kucing yg makan dia. Pastu mereka letak bijirin (grains) to add bulk and act as filler padahal a cat's body cannot process carbohydates well.

Many uninformed consumers purchase these lower quality products because they are so much cheaper, but they will be paying higher vet bills later on, not to mention the suffering endured by both the pets as well as the owners themselves.

hmm.. so Furkids wut brand actually suitable for them, i tot Iams is premium food in overseas, tapi u ckp bukan, currently my cats mkn brand Iams, how about urs? nak bagi RC hehe.. mahal pulak tapi berkualiti kan?

Actually, Raef, kalau kita tengok ingredients mereka tu, IAMS, RC, SP dan Blackwood tu actually lebih kurang sama standard, tapi RC mahal giler ... ada orang kata sebab exchange rate dia ... in my opinion mungkin juga that is the reason so kalau if your kids are doing ok dengan IAMS, no problem la.

However, from my experience (dan juga dilaporkan oleh consumers lain), some cats kalau makan IAMS, guguran bulu mereka lebih teruk. Kalau you find your cats punyer experience tu ok, tak aper lah, harganya pun lebih murah.

SP pula, utk some cats poo dia jadi lebih keras so tak sesuai sangat takut lama-kelamaan kucing susah berak dan keluar darah pulak.

Personally, my cats punya poo bila makan RC, it is softer and nicer dan bulu pun tak gugur banyak, so I am staying with RC walaupun harga lebih tinggi (apa nak buat ... nanti vet bill naik melambung poket aku jadi ringan juga kan?).

This kind of thing actually varies between cats (makna nyer, just because kucing orang lain tu makan ok, doesn't mean makanan tu sesuai utk kucing you, the effect MAY be different, kay? So you always need to try things out for yourself and your cats.

... another FACT is that cats are VERY finicky eaters and they like the SAME old food, tak macam selera manusia yg suka bertukar-tukar. Kadang-kadang kita baca tentang makanan yg bagus sangat, super-duper premium tapi kucing tak nak telan, macam mana? Macam kes dulu saya kasi mereka Innova Evo yg grains-free, punyer mahal giler dan kibbles banyak hancur tu (lagi tak nak makan sebab hancur!) cuma sekor sahaja yg nak makan, so apa nak buat, kan? RC juga lah kasi sama diorang ...

Another thing I like about RC is the packaging quality, less likely to bocor dan masuk angin compared to IAMS punyer bag kertas, ensuring the kibbles are fresher dan tak lemau mcm pek IAMS. But even then, you still need to tekan and press the bag of RC you are taking sebab saya nampak pekerja kasar sikit semasa handling angkut-mengangkut during transportation tu ....

One more thing I like about RC is that they are able to offer more specific formulas for specific needs and different stages of growth, which is good. For example, mereka offer Babycat 34 utk anak kucing 1-4 months, Kitten 36 utk anak kucing 4-12 months sebab keperluan tiny kittens 1-4 months (especially 1-2 months) are so different from kittens 6 months old or 8-9 month old. Tapi for commercial reasons, some brands bantai the same formula for 1-2 month old kittens and 8-9 month old kittens ... makanan sama utk anak kucing 1 hingga 12 bulan ... tak logik sebenarnya.

Ye betol..kat oversea Iams tu mcm Friskies & Whiskas kat sini...tapi tak pe, macam Furkids kata, ikut kemampuan & selera kucing kita...lagipun, kalau tak silap Iams dah formula baru dah...better daripada dulu yang menyebabkan bulu gugur...

Betul tuh ikut kemampuan kita jugak.. If kucing2 dah biasa dgn IAMS, and no health problem, stck to it la.. Tapi I agree yg RC has more choices and more specic to cats type/ age.. pricey sangat.. Used to feed my cats RC, now changing it to BW.. So far, okay..

Guys how about ACANA Grain Free, 34% crude protein, sama manufacturer dgn Orijen ker? tapi Orijen sampai 40% crude proteinnyer... anybody know how much the market price for those brand?

Harga untuk Orijen RM 67.00 for 2.5kg dan Acana RM 62.00 for tak ingat la untuk berapa kg...I pegi Pet Lovers Centre kat Mines ari tu...& yes, dua2 tu sama company...

Yup, dalam Mines...kedai dia tu a bit tersorok sikit..kalau first time pegi memang tak jumpa....

Holistic pet food biasanya memang mahal...dan satu lagi jual kat kedai dalam mall...lagi mahal...hehehe...(ye ke?)

Acana formula lama yg mengandungi grains dah tak ada lagi tapi dulu-dulu semasa Acana tersebut dijual kat kedai, according to what I hear from many pet shops mereka kata Acana tu susah nak dijual, kurang laris so they stopped stocking kat kebanyakan kedai. That is why now you find many pet shops tak jual.

Dan dulu Acana ada jual breeder pack (mcm Blackwood), saya pernah beli utk feed the strays tetapi saya perhatikan mereka kurang suka for some reason (berbanding dengan BW, RC dan IAMS .... ya, dulu sebelum semua naik harga, memang saya kasi strays makanan premium sama seperti anak bulus (RC) saya sendiri, tak pilih kasih punya). Their bowls remain full, campurkan dengan tuna wet food pun mereka kurang makan. Bila saya cuba kunyah dan rasa sendiri, tak lah lemau sangat tapi ada rasa manis bergula sedikit.

Sekarang mereka introduce formula yg grains-free, in line with Orijen. Walaupun ingredients Acana nampak ok, tetapi kucing-kucing tak mahu makan sangat (and I don't buy their marketing hype that because the quality is better, the cat eat less, sebab bila saya tambah kibbles lain atau lambung seketol daging ayam, mereka rebut dan growling, menunjukkan mereka memang lapar tapi tak mahu telan Acana kibbles tersebut baik adult mahupun kitten punya). The importer banyak kasi pek-pek yg hampir expire ataupun baru expire secara free kepada ramai animal rescuers utk kasi makan stray. My friends pun ada pass banyak kepada saya. Tapi kucing kurang mahu makan, even strays.

As for Orijen, I still have several unanswered questions concerning it after the deaths and kidney damages reported, so I am still uncomfortable with it walaupun ingredients listed nampak macam ok.

Saya tak pernah mencuba Prairie dan Pacifica and don't think that I will. I am staying with whatever I have been using and am satisfied with the results till now, so I won't be fixing what is not broken especially so since cats are such finicky eaters and their digestive system is so sensitive when it comes to dry kibbles. Just my 2-sen.

Proformance dulu pun ada jual saiz besar dan ekonomi mcm breeder pack and a lot of animal welfare people buy to feed the strays tapi the range yg mereka jual tu is the very basic formula yg pek warna kuning tu. Sekarang tak jual dah.
