Vaccination for guinea pigs?

anyone..hv u ever heard of the topic??

pagi tadi, i pegi klinik jbtn kesihatan haiwan KL..igt nk vaccine my 2 guinea pigs..b4 pegi tu, dh call tny..org yg angkat call tu ckp ade..dtgla bwk pets awk..so, i was excited dh tny n jwpn ada..huhu..tp!

malangnye,pas dh spi..tggu turn dlm 10min cmtu(cpt kn??)..no 3002 dipanggil ke bilik 5..so, i entered the room..ade sorg doc yg sgt manja..tny,ape awk bawak tu??
i said..my pets..gp..pastu dia tny i, ape u nk wt sbnrnye ngn gp ni kt cni??
i pon ckp..vaccination for them! dia troz ckp xde kt cni..sgtla geram saat itu! sbb mse registration dia dh tny aku nk wt ape..pastu dia tny lg..n ckp xde!

so, sape tawu kt mane i bleh bwk anak3 gp ku ini amik vaccine?? help!

sy ade pernah terpikir jgk nk vaccine sblom nie..
tapi ade doc tu ckp, small animals mcm nie tak seswai dicocok.
so sy rasa ape yg doc tu ckp betul jugak kn..
just bagi vitamin ok kot? sy pun bg vitamin je ;P

Betul la Wawa. No need to cucuk utk vaksin but still need to bring to the vet. Esp about their teeth/tooth. Darwin & Horlicks doing fine here. Not so shy anymore but still afraid with my kucing2. Ya la, all of them gather tgk GP cam tgk ayam rebus je

I rmb when my hamsters had wet tail last time. I had 3 lovely hammies. when the 1st one had wet tail, I had lil experience and thot cirit-birit not that bad, plus i had test, so ingat nak bawa vet on weekend saja. but 2nd night, 1st hammy passed away. so so sad. I quickly googled and found out wet tail spread quickly.

I then brought my 2 hammies to vet, looked like sudah kena the wet tail. vet said they don't treat hamster. brought to 2nd vet, the vet say don't treat also. then i said, fine, i wanna buy medicine for them. vet say they don't import hamster medicine. his words. "ppl prefer to buy another hamster than to treat it coz the treatment is often more expensive. hamster is just rm20-rm40 each. just buy another one la" I was so angry so you mean my hammy got sick i should just throw it in rubbish bin and buy another one?

In the end I was desperate, I bought ubat cirit birit kanak kanak and take suap them a small portion with yogurt(ppl say it helps). by that time, the 2nd hammy very tenat dy and didn't make it T__T. I didn't give up on the 3rd hamster and cont to make it it the medicine + cleaning its ciritbirit, coz poisonous if they jilat it themselves. don't treat sure die, so I just keep trying with the yogurt and kid medicine. in the end he made it!!!! but after that, it has a week body. it coughs and sneeze when it rains. tho very kesian, it looks cute sneezing =P so I fed it vitamins since.

so please let me know if you guys know any vets that treat small animals like hamsters. thanks alot =)

for ur info ade vet yg treat gp & hammies kt malaysia ni..
kt damansara ade sorg doc..Dr.Jenny..she's very good in treating gp..i nvr go there..but many forumers i met online always do their gp check up at her clinic..so,maybe i'll go there one day to do annual check up of my gp..but i;m not sure bout hamster..

ur hammies sneeze?? just like mine..hehe..i brought het o klinik..and they give me antibiotic..liquid form to b added to his drink..but,anyway..the antibiotic doesnt work..he keep sneezing..but i guess he's getting ok with the sneeze..=)

btw,i'll check for u if i found any recommended clinic for ur hammies..ok?

i found an address of a good clinic for treating gp..at damansara..jauh kn..tp tu jela yg kwn3 ni recommend..sbb byk dorg g clinic lain tp gp dorg ade mati pas g clinic lain..=( xmo jd cmtu..hehe..perot suha getting bigger..dia skrg mkn byk..for the baby..kehkeh..

thanks alot or the info. glad that if anything ever happen to my hammies again, there's somewhere i can seek treatment for them.

yup, it always sneeze, but only when it's cold. maybe antibody weak dy after wet tail. kinda kesian, but looks really cute when it sneeze =P

Guinea Pig - tak payah vakcin apa-apa, just supply enough vit c. I had mine for 3 years & gave birth 5 times oredi and healthy.

Hamster, wet tail - jst take care of them @ur best, even after medication ok, but will die few month after. I guraantee u that.

Dont waste money. The truth hurts.

yes..gp doesnt need any vaccination..
but anyway,preferably if u really care for ur pets,i think it shudn't be any problem if u bring them to vet..hehe..

Just tell u all just dont try to waste too much money and hope at the wet tail hamster will live a long life. I mean is that it will soon die earlier even recover after treatment. Just take care of it & jangan sangat tertaksub terhadap hamster.

3 ekor: 1 jantan n 2 bitana.....
tapi tak tahu tiba2 seminggu lps seekor demi seekor mati....
nak kate tak bg mkn,bg mkn semua, tapi tiba2 je....
first seekor mati, n esok plk lg seekor mati,
so lg seekor i terus bwk pg doc....!!!
so doc ckp ok tak ade ape2 cuba still tak biasa kat tmpt baru....
so die bg ubat muhivitamin 0.5ml skli dlm sehari ....
so yg i tak fhm smpai skrg da msuk 4weeks, the gp still tak brape nak shat...
i bg mkn snack vitamin, elok ke snack vitamin 2.....?
sbb gp i tak nak mkn ape2, so dok nak mkn snack 2 je....
yg jdi mslh, gp i nampak lemah je,sbb tak mkn mknan die n dok mkn snack 2 tapi sikit....

n pagi tadi tiba2 tbring mcm nak mati , so scpt2 i bg ubat die, oklh sikit n mkn snack 2.....

Hi there..sorry to hear that..so, how is ur GP right now??
may i know apa yang hari3 awak bagi makan yer?
actually, for GP..it is not recommended to give multivitamin..u should go for VIt.C only..
i rase ur GP tak dpt all the nutrient he should..& there are many reason why a GP can die..due to stress also can make the GP die..

hope to hear from u soon wanie..plz update on ur GP yer..
