Hi everyone, i have a cat from what the breeder told me its a persian pure-bred. i just got it for my wife coz she liked the fella(named - BuBu, 1yr 6 mths old now). Not really a forumer so apologies if i had/shall make any mistakes.

there you go... can someone tell me the exact breed of the fella...i only know like ... tortoise shell, tabby etc... no clue wat he is ...altough having him for more than a year already....asked the vet also vet told me persian...

biasanya kalau kucing yang x de certificate Dari badan2 kucing, kuchng kita alan dipanggil domestic longhair (DLH), domestic shorthair (DSH) or domestic semi longhair (DSLH) :)

yours is either DLH or DSLH.

thanks.....whats the use of the certificate? sorry for asking sooo many questions just curious.. the breeder i got it from has alot of cats i saw his ad on adpost... no intention of joining cat shows or anything just curious...

it's ok. here goes:-

1). cert = our IC. It confirms the pedigree of cat, DOB, parents of cat. similar to us, without IC there's no proof of our origins
2) having a cat with a cert means he was purchased by a registered cattery/breeder. The registration is typically with CFA, TICA or Fife.
3) Registered breeders are generally people who would breed a certain pedigree eg Persians or Maincoons or ragdoll or Birman etc in accordance to the breed standards, proper breeding programnes, proper medical care, diet etc. These are ethical breeders. Having said this, we still have to becareful when approaching registered breeders as being a registered breeder does not guarantee tht the breeder is ethical.

Without a cert it will be impossible to determine tht exact breed of cat except for assumptions based on physical assesments. Thts why they're termed as DSH etc irregardless of what the breeder or petshop says.

Tak perlu risau ... cuma perlu derma saja ke tabung Perfinder. Cukup haul boleh diagihkan pada penyelamat kucing.

thanks i really was clueless when i bought the fella... didnt really do research coz it was a rushed bday present... only after did i realize all tis...

Dinaosaur,klu tanya kat kami orang biasa ni,cert or no cert they still cats.tp ada setengah group klu takde cert you can't declare your cat as Persian selagi takde cert. klu Parsi hanya blh dikatakan purebreed klu ada cert.kucing Parsi takde cert akan dipanggil Domestic Long Hair. nanti durang akan compare mcm kita ada Mykad or not. tp for me tak kisahlah.janji kita sayang kucing

Anyway,your kucing sgtlah comel.muka samseng tu.heheheheh!!

haihh kak June. unfortunately thts the official reality. Sebelum ni my dexter I termed as Persia cross sbb itu yg petshop ckp, telah di perbetulkan dikampung sana (u know where) as DLH. Sejak tu lah i research. thts why I told dinasour nih, apapun kucing dia comel dan sihat. I'm soo crazy abt dex and sophie walaupun background and harga diorang beza hehe.

ps I pun nak kuchng muka samseng lak. dah ada dua ekor muka kiut2 nih hehe.
