HELP! earmites

Took my cat to the vet yesterday because she have earmites. So the doc clean her ears and gave her ivomec jab. Told me to come again in 2 weeks time for a second jab.

This morning, found her ears covered in yellow discharge and clean them with ilium oticlean no fun at all when she shakes her head .

My question is, I thought ivomec jab kills the mites then why she still got yellow discharge? Have to wait till 2nd jab to get all cleared? Anyone care to share your experience.

The vet gv my kitten 3 jabs of ivermectin. During the time when he still receives the injection he still has it. We clean both of his ears once in every two days and I'm safe to say that he's mites free now. It took us a month plus to get rid of them. We mopped the floor and sun dry his bed and toys everyday. With ear mites, all you need is perseverance.
