I was doing my research fieldwork around the Bangi area in late November 2011, when I suddenly stumbled into a stray pregnant female cat. I was instantly attracted to her unique appearance, her face looked like a sad mime or harlequin. When i tried to approach her, she scuttled away. I saw something weird about the way she ran away, it was only then I realized that she has 1 missing hand, and the wound was still bloody & raw. Most probably some heartless 'human' chopped her hand off, as the wound was clean cut.
Feeling sympathy for this 3-legged cat, I proceeded to feed & check on her for the next 2 days and nights. On the 3rd day, I successfully captured her & immediately brought her to the vet for treatment. This is her story..and mine. A story about Harlie, the abused 3-legged cat.
My name is Dani Irwan bin Masbah, and I'm a postgraduate student in UKM Bangi who also happens to be the person lucky enough to rescue Harlie. My life has changed since then :) This blog is dedicated to her cause. My mission is to get her treated at the vet until she's 100% okay..and also to look for a new loving home for her in future.
If anyone is interested in adopting her, please send me a PM and we'll see how it goes from there. She's a very special cat with very special needs, i.e she will need to be kept strictly indoors, and if the adopter is staying in a high-rise or condo, safety precautions must be taken & installed to ensure she doesn't fall as her jumping ability is now hampered.

If you can't adopt her, then please do consider making a small donation in order to help me cover her medical bills. Refer to the page above to see how you can make your donations for poor Harlie.
Thanks in advance everyone!
