Exclamation A student living with 4 cats

i really need advises for living with my kids (about 5 or 6 months) in my room. i feed them acana but gonna change to orijen coz the shop owner is not going to sell acana any more since the price is about the same after the price changes. so i think then why not orijen since its better and my kids might eat lesser coz i realize they're eating more now = my $ even tighter. or any other brand?

thier poos and pees really smells! i already got complains about it from my landlord which he suggested that i move to his another place where i will get the back garden all to myself and my kids but i havent decide yet and its another 2 month til i move out to that place or another. so mean while i still need to solve the prob, i already feeling very guilty about it. >< i even bought the water air refresher thingy where i see it in many pet shop but doesnt help (freaking rm120 le T.T) any advise? and i vacuum my room everyday but their fur are still everywhere >< how to get rid of them?? eps from my bed!!

they're getting bigger so i think the garden would help. i'll take a look at the room tmr ,will share with u all the pics and i could pay one of my house mate to build a huge cage for them. just in case i need to keep them away and they can have fun in there. oh speaking of fun, every toy i bought back, they will destroy it in less than 2 hour time >< and one of my cat would climb out of my window and cry out really LOUD like he's hoping to be set free or something :(

i talked to my house mates and i told them i'm sorry and they think it's best if im not having too many of them :( they think in order to solve the prob is to not having anymore or only one of them. i found them when i was walking back from college and they're with me for 4 months, how could i <s>get rid</s> give them away without trying my best??

i still have 2 months to prove a student could handle living with 4 fur kids and even better with a back garden just for ourselves!

PS: they're all males btw :)

Heyyy. I keep my 2 DLH kitties in bedroom as well. There were times when they would stink up the whole room, especially after the poop.

But I think I found a way to reduce the smell - since my parents stopped complaining about the smell traveling into their bedroom. xD

I started feeding them RC Indoors. If I'm not mistaken, RC Indoors (2kg) is RM7 more expensive than the Orijen 2kg. I hope I'm not wrong.

Then I placed AmbiPur Crystal Gels (about RM6-8, depends on where you buy them) around my bedroom - where it's unreachable for the cats because I'm worried if the cats will knocked the thing over and eat the gel. Also, I occasionally spray air freshener if I think their poo smell is out of control.

So far I think I did a pretty good job, because my dad's friend stopped by to look at my kittes and she complimented that my room smelled nice. I just hope it wasn't sarcasm though. xD

If you can afford Orijen, I know you have the budget to go out and invest in an adult sized 3-tier cage which costs around RM300 now. With this one 3-tier cage you can manage all 4 kittens in your room without having to move to a new place and without having your room stinky (believe me!).

A 3-tier cage is very versatile - you can partition it into 2 separate compartments like the 2 pics below or you can leave 6 inch gap at the side of the top floor for all 4 kitties to climb up and sleep/play/eat in the clean upper floor or climb down to the bottom poo/pee floor below. Put a very big heavy clay bowl for water (a heavy one prevents the bowl from toppling over during play and wetting the whole place).

I give all my kittens RC Kitten and the poo smells much less. Use shredded newspaper and change twice a day, throwing all the soiled things into the garbage bin outside your house.

You can raise all 4 kittens well this way if you are disciplined to do things efficiently this way. Keep them in the cage when you go out as well as when you go to sleep. Do all feedings in the cage, not all over your room to discipline them to go into the cage at regular times and have good feelings with the cage.
