a new home for the homeless feline..

this is a story i wanted to share with everyone..im quite proud of it and i intended to do it again insyaallah..a day b4 raya i went to the spca, ampamg jaya for the 1st time and my word..there are soo many potential beauty felines around..i intended to adopt one and i sure had a hard time choosing..i wish i could take as much as my hands could carry but unfortunately it is not my own hands that will feed them so i choose 1..there were some kittens around but not much..there was this kitten with the mother..grey striped tabby i wanted to adopt but he was too small im afraid i might not have the skill yet to take care..plus it's raya..so that day i didnt take home any but intended to come back..

on the 26th of september afternoon,i went to spca again determined to take one home for real..it is my very 1st time adopting so im pretty nervous.. there were some new cats and kittens as i walked in..the grey striped tabby kitten was unfortunately adopted..i wanted to take an adult cat RM50 and a kitten..but too bad i didnt have enuf money..(duit raya tahun ni tak banyak sangat)..in the end i decided to choose a male kitten which my beau fell in love at first sight..there was a couple who just came to see the cats and they were eyeing the kitten that i want..my beau immediately took teh kitten and held it in his arms purposely saying out loud that we'll take this one..and i agreed as i always have problems in choosing which ones i want as i love all kinds of felines...might they be skinny, full of fungus, fat, or ugly..i love them all...as we were filling up the froms (i was dammed xcited i was sweating mad)

the moment we went to see the kitten we've chosen again b4 leaving(i had to leave it behind 1st and pick it up later after making full payment cz i need to run some errands in town)...the couples were holding my baby and playing with it..luckily kak ani( the worker there) told them "oh..maaf..yang ini dah ada orang ambil baru tadi"....fuhh..lega hati..

so i went to town with "kapas" (i decided to gave slighly similar name to my late cat "cotton") in mind..tak senang hati jalan...maklumlah...xcited kan..after being done with whatever needed..i was suppose to go visit granpa in shah alam, then pick up "kapas" at night (kak ani kata she'l keep it at her place beside the spca)...but i was to anxious i decided to go back to spca and pick "kapas" up pronto....and angkut him togather to shah alam.. and so i did..

and now..he is already mine..his new mama....and is living with me in my room in campus (supposingly illegal to keep pets kan..but what the hell, i dont mind being compound once a semester for it..as long as he's in my sight)..i am glad..soo glad that i decided to adopt rather that buy a breed..and i wish to adopt more when im capable financially..(im a student you see)..now "kapas" has a good place to stay..good food to eat and drink ( i strictly use RC and mineral water/air masak for meals..no air paip)..i hope he will be happy with me and became fat..

saya takyah tunggu pg spca,kat sini nampak kucing terbiar sume nak angkut..tapi apekan daya tinggal ngan family,limited budget plak tuh..so kena slalu beringat lah..

ya..belum lagi sbb baru amik 26.9.09 hr tu..vet tu kata dtg lg 1week utk deworm..dan seterusnya.kalau kita bg yang ubat cacing titik kat air dia tu ok ke? atau kalau nak deworm tak payah bagi ubat titik tu?.a'ah ada mcm kurap lebih kurang..nnti balik dr campus nak pi beli ubat kat vet..kutu yg halus pun ada..mak dah beli frontline tp tak spray lg..maklumlah..tak tahu dari mana dtgnya kapas ni..but i'll try to make him normal again..selera dia bagus dan aktif..sy bagi RC utk skin and fur sbb itu yg ada dirumah,tp nnti nak tukar yang lebih sesuai..mungkin utk kitten ke..

vet tu yang kat SPCA ke ? Kalau dia kasi free deworm, eluk tunggu je lagi one week, gi deworm kat sana. Lagipun dia boleh tengokkan siku dia tu sekali. Kene tau kurap tu jenis apa. Mungkin mange, ringworm dll. Setiap jenis skin problem lain treatment dia. So, lebih baik consult vet dulu.

frontline tu, sbb umur dia baru 2 bulan, spray kat kapas *cotton* dulu, baru sapu kat badan kitten tu. Kalau spray direct takut dia stress. Lg pun she is too young.

Kalau kasi makan Blackwood kitten pun OK.

yup..vet spca mmg the contract is we take the adopted kitten to deworm 2x,vaccinate 3x and last skali neuter..total adoption fees+medical RM135..ok lah jugak kn murah juga..tulah..nnti nak bubuh sikit2 ja dulu sbb bau dia menyengat..kesian..blackwood tu brand mcmmana?berapa harga nya lebih kurang? baguih ke? kat mana nak beli?

very good deal SPCA kasi you. Sampai neuter pun ada dalam contract dia. Follow jer schedule tu.

Blackwood is a premium cat food. Dulu mmg kak zai kasi kucing makan RC. Tapi sejak dengar cerita RC punya distributor nak kene terminate ujung tahun ni, kak zai cari alternatif. Blackwood is the best so far. Selain harga yang OK, poo kucing kurang bau. Poo dia pun jadi solid. Kat pet safari, IKANO pun ada jual. Kak nurul Felix pun ada jual kat PF ni. Ilana tengok kat sini :

Bolehlah..kalau sendiri..means kalau dikira pakej tue bagi saya kat sini.. Deworm 2x (RM30) + Vaccine 3x (RM150) + Neuter (RM160*betina*) = RM340 ... Huhu nieh vet swasta lah...

kat spca...memang ada kcuing cantik2..
memuler memang tak di jaga elok
tapie kalo kiter pandai dan rajin jaga..
akan jadik sangat comel.

bulan 7 lin ada g spaca
jumper baka british short hair.
cantik sangat..baru pas di neuter kan
niat nak sambar.

lin pusing2 tempat lain dulu..
datang balik kat sangkar tue dah takde
upernya dah ada org adopt.
2 hari menyesal tak sudah..

Dia charge sayer dalam RM250++ untuk vaccine ketiga2 ( Tembun-setahun sekali punyer..Bob-baru start..Boy-restart sbb dulu tak tau wat ke tak).., satu big carrier yang leh masuk dalam 2 ekor kucing dewasa...deworm pills (3x) ngan treatment Gingivitis + scratching prob Bob... lupa nak minta pecahan..tapi dia ada sebut vaccine RM150..

Ini kira saya g kelinik murah nieh..kalau yang lagi satu mahal tak ingat tueh...lagi lah baper agaknyer...

mungkin sebab penang cost of living high dan org penang ramai yang 'berduit'

kat sini kak zai selalu di charge RM38 untuk vaksin
deworm RM15..kalau kitten RM8 jer
tapi recently akak deworm rescued kittens 4 ekor tu dia charge RM5 je sekor. Mungkin sebab dia tahu kisah durang tu. My vet pun rescue kucing jugak. Selalu nampak kittens & kucing dlm bilik dia tgh treatment. Kdg2 tgh letak drip. Dia kutip kucing2 sakit pastu bila dah cantik dia kasi adopt.
TNR pun dia buat jugak. Dia focus strays kat kawasan klinik dan rumah dia saja la.

Kalau sumer vet mcm ni kan bagus. Ni tidak...ada vet yang kurang ajar, sudah la tak beretika, ingat RM jer...ingat duit manjang...

Mungkinlah kak Zai.. ada jugak saya google baca..ada vet charge lebey untuk yang bawak pedigree cat..and kalau kucen stray/kampung..dia charge sket.... Selalu vet tanyer mana saya ambik kuceing..sayer kata mak sedara kasi... Macam Boy tue kak..selalu bawak di g vet kompom..RM120 ke atas... huhu nak nangis lah teringat camnieh.. kalau dia sakit memang kopak...
