Re: Baby Kitten In Need of a Good Home Urgently
I agree with Furkids. The best is to rescue the mama & reunite meowmmy and kitty and rehome them together.
However, if it's too late to rescue the mama, this is what you could do until you find someone to adopt the kitten. Err, if you have experience raising young orphan kittens, then please ignore my post.
1) Make sure kitty is warm. They are not able to regulate their body temperature yet. Line the bottom of a box with clean, thick towels. Don't put the box where there's bright lights. Young kitties that've just opened their eyes find glaring lights hurting.
2) Bottle-feed it with warm, kitten formula milk every 2 hours. Hold the kitty with its belly on the ground, and NOT like a baby, as the milk will enter its lungs.
3) After feeding, wipe its butt with a warm, damp towel. This stimulates the pee and poo. The mother cat would lick the butt of the kitty to stimulate it, but since the mother cat is not around, you'll have to be the mother.
