Default Weak kitten

Is it normal for a 4-5 week old kitten to be weak and lethargic all the time?

I just picked her up last Sunday. Her mom wasn't anywhere to be seen so I think she's orphaned.

She eats well. Thing is, she's always sleeping. She would walk around the living room and then just plop down wherever and sleeps! She plops down on my doormat, in the middle of the living room floor (on the cold tile), under the bed...just about all the unexpected places all the time.

I took her to see a vet yesterday but the vet said she was too young to be vaccinated and I had to wait another 2 weeks. She gave my kitten some worm medicine and something for her eye infection (lots of discharge). Vet also finds her okay but advised me to keep her separate from my other cat.

I'm feeding her Babycat34 and some wet food.

So, is my kitten normal to be tired & sleepy all the time?

Default Re: Weak kitten

I think it dependent on the kitten and the environment. I got one kitten who is also orphaned. She was about 3-4 weeks when I found her. She is extremely tired at first. After she been deworm & defleas, I brought her around the house to play.. Strings, mouse toy and everything.... and now she is super active. She wont sleep unless i locked her in the cage.

One thing can try is to play with her. Try to simulate her to play and walk around. Its good to observe her pee pee & poo poo. if the kitten is unwell, you would be able to tell from there.

good luck!
