Hi, I am not a regular here and I don't know how many photographers you need. I can help out with the photography if you need anymore. I am not a professional photographer or anything but I mostly photograph my own cat.

Wow.. I must say that your photos are really nice and impressive! If more of the homeless animals are presented in such captivating shots, it'd definitely make a lasting impression on the potential adopters and enquiries would skyrocket.

Thank you for your generous offer. The shelters can definitely use your assistance. Are you located nearer to SPCA (Ampang) or PAWS (Subang)? Please advise on your availability and location, and I'll coordinate the phototaking session for you.

Your awesome bunny shots have made a lasting impression on me haha.. don't forget to share more with us!

We currently have a volunteer, Ai Ney that is also consistently photographing PAWS animals. If you could also help out, then it'll definitely make the process more effective, with more frequeunt updates.

Please let me know when you can pay PAWS a visit, and I'll provide you more info and put you in touch with Ai Ney so both of you can better coordinate your efforts.

hehe thanks for the very kind words, andy :p there are tons of bunny pics on my blog, but cannot compare to superkitty haha

weekdays are out for me.. work takes up almost all of my time. weekends are fine, I don't work on saturdays.. so both sat & sun are good. let me know how to contact Ai Ney, or she can PM me here

I've always wanted to go shoot some other people's cat (with a camera I mean). Just doing something I like. I am staying at sri petaling. so ampang or subang is find. i should be able to have some free time this saturday or sunday. I'll see if I can drop by PAWS and have a look myself first before we set any specific time for shooting. I 've never been to paws before. Only been to SPCA 10 years ago when I was supposed to give up the kitten I found to SPCA and ended up bringing him home instead.

Hehe.. too bad SPCA and PAWS don't really have much bunnies to photograph though! So you'll have to demonstrate your skills on the doggies and kitties instead

It might be advisable to go in pairs to make the work easier, i.e. one person can keep the animal steady while the other snaps the pics, or each cover different groups of animals etc... well, let's see what you can work out with Ai Ney... if the schedules don't fit then you can probably try it out yourself first

Hi andy. I can go this weekend. Sorry i know i told you i'd go last saturday to take photos. I did go, but was only there for 10 minutes getting mister fluffers vaccinated.. No laziness this weekend i promise.

Hi Andy,

I dropped by PAWS 2 or 3 weekends ago and spoke to the Shelter Manager. He said that he wanted to work something out between Petfinder & PAWS, so that accurate information is provided along with the relevant pet photo, and also for the pet profiles to be as up to date as possible (apparently, there are some discrepancies some pet profiles e.g. details of the pet, and whether or not it's still available for adoption). He said he would call me again after speaking with Petfinder.

Anyways, I haven't heard from him yet.. but the impression I got was that we should hold of on the photo sessions until we can put together a more organised system of collating and disseminating information on the pets, which will involve close co-operation between PAWS and Petfinder personnel.

If there's been any new development since then, let me know :) I'm free most weekends :)

Hi andy. Mission accomplished, photos taken. Lots of new dogs there and sadly lots of the dogs i took photos of last time are still not adopted. Anyway i took lots of pics, hopefully enough. My camera battery died halfway i think coz i was using the lcd live view so much. I'll email the pics and info on monday k? I need to use my office computer to tinker with photos.

If you intend to resize them for quicker emailing, please resize to 600x600, which is the dimension used for PetFinder pet photos.

Hope this update of the profiles would generate more interested enquiries and adoptions for SPCA!

yup, 600 x 600 refers to the maximum width and height... but your photo doesnt necessary have the exact width and height mentioned - your photo would be scaled proportionately to 600 pixels for the width or height, whichever is longer.

if you are not sure, you can just send me like what you did last time, i'll do the resizings accordingly, thanks.

Oh darn i just saw that you already have profiles for twinkle, tula, sugar and sandy.. Sorry next time will check more carefully which spca dogs already have profiles.

Haha, Twinkle is actually a new profile, I just created it.

No prob on the existing ones - it's good to update their profiles with latest photos and get new attention for them too

I have just spoken to Edward from PAWS, and he mentioned that they are low on resources and would greatly appreciate it if some volunteer can assist them in taking a new batch of photos for listing on PetFinder.

Are there any volunteers out there that can assist them within this week or two? We will be publishing the new batch of pets on Petster Magazine at the end of the month, so it'd be great if we can have them ready before then.

If possible, I'll also prepare a list of existing pets here for you to check with them to see which of them have already been adopted.
