FIV/FELV Positive Cat
Greetings Petfinder Feline Friends,
I realize that this is a long shot but, do any of you have FIV/FELV positive cats? Would you be willing to adopt/take in another? There is a very long story that goes along with this but to make it a little shorter-- a cat recently arrived on my doorstep. My normal protocal is to FELV/FIV test the cats, get them neutered/spayed, micro-chipped and vaccinated. This cat has tested positive for both. I strongly believe the cat belongs to someone but no one has come forward as of yet. I am in no position to keep him as I have a very elderly inside cat who is negative for both, and my outside colony is Felv/FIV negative (although I will get everyone re-tested once I recoup financially from this cats surgery etc.) I am also moving overseas and am at the max in terms of the numbers of pets I can take with me. If anybody is willing to take this cat in that would be great. He is VERY affecionate, seems to get along ok with other cats (although my outisde crew doesn't like him much--- they are VERY territorial). He has been neutered but because of his compromised immune system we decided NOT to vaccinate him at this time.
He is currently recovering from his surgery but will need a permanent, INDOOR, lifetime home ASAP!
